I was at the Cy Ridge Game Friday and a buddy of mine that was at the Woodlands Cy Fair game told me about a Cy Fair player that was in the huddle on the field and threw down his helmet then went to the corner of the endzone and took off his pads threw them down then left...What is up with that? Never heard of this happening in High School football before...

I didn't see what happened. I just saw a helmet come flying onto the field after the play stopped and before the refs started marking off the yards. Everyone around me was puzzled, because all the players on the field had their helmets on.
Here's how TeXan described the play.
I'm not sure exactly what happened but here's the chain of events that I saw:
1. CF false started but TW already started across the line before the whistle blew. A flag was thrown for the false start on CF.
2. After the whistle, one of the TW players pulled #8 to the ground. A flag was thrown on TW for a personal foul (I think it was roughing the passer but I'm not certain that was the call).
3. A CF lineman pushed the TW player that got flagged but no penalty was called for that.
4. #8 took himself out of the game, threw off his shoulder pads and then threw his helmet out on the field. A flag was thrown on CF for unsportsmanlike conduct.
5. The three penalties resulted in a 5 yard loss for CF because the two 15-yarders canceled each other out. However, they spotted the ball at the original line of scrimmage.
It was a confusing chain of events that should have resulted in a 10 yard gain for CF before the helmet toss but ended up in nothing for anybody.

If you are the Coach....would #8 play any more this season? I know if it were my son he would be sitting the season out.

I am glad to see that the Coaches at Cy Fair have taken this stand. There is too much of the selfish, self serving crap happening at the High Schools today. I hope the player gets his head on straight and his family rallies around him.

On a positive note, the Woodlands new stadium is very nice. Lots of great places to eat before/after the game, and they did a good job with traffic control.:D
