Harsh would've been firing the Top 25 teams for 3-4 TD wins over FCS teams. I cut them slack because they won by more than 20 and generally had big leads in the 1st half.

Most of the teams weren't going to be BCS teams, anyway and the one's that might will probably get beat in a BCS game.

The rules have changed:

1. The 07 rules were you were fired when I felt like you no longer had a chance to play in a BCS game.

2. The 08 rules changed before I started the thread. I was so disgusted with the Big East and ACC in Weerk 1 and the Big Ten to a lesser extent that the new rules are I fire you if I feel disgusted by your team or performance. It has nothing to do with who plays in the BCS games or not. The better teams won't get fired and bad teams will still get fired. Non-BCS teams that still have a good season and might lose a few games can escape being fired. BCS teams that lose to non-BCS teams will get fired and good teams will still get fired if they totally tank games. Non-BCS teams can escape being fired by playing well and losing to a BCS team.

Examples:

1. Idaho can't lose 70-0 to anybody and not get fired.
2. Clemson got fired for tanking against 'bama.
3. NC State was so putrid against South Carolina, they were canned.
4. Lousyanna-Monroe has played hard in BCS losses, but they need to start winning some or they'll be fired, too.
5. Tennessee got the axe for that UCLA game.

At the end of the day, pretty much the only teams that won't get fired are Top 25 type teams. There might be some BCS bowl teams like West Virginia or Clemson that are fired, but I consider them frauds as BCS teams.

For the smart alecks out there, Texas Tech was fired last year. They got the axe after the Colorado game.

They got bonus points for pounding Colorado State, but the Eastern Washington win was lackluster. I've thought all along that Hawkins would have a pretty good team this year, but they can be fired if they don't play better in future weeks. I do cut BCS teams some slack for taking FCS team too lightly and not blowing them out to an extent, but I still want to see good wins. What I won't do is ignore teams like Arkansas that have to escape two weeks in a row. I'm not happy with Texas Tech, but I also know they were in control of the scoreboard at all times the last two weeks.

It wouldn't have made that much of a difference. Besides, Ohio State and Tressell disgust me and that's the basis of who gets fired besides the teams that are so awful they have to be fired. Some of the non-BCS teams who have been losing to BCS teams will get fired as they lose conference games and some of the BCS teams that have been beating chumps will get fired as they lose games.

There are fired undefeated teams because they are a mix of those I think have some losses coming or they just haven't played well. There are a few 2-loss teams not fired, but they're non-BCS teams that have played hard so far and I don't want to fire them yet. Anytime I haven't fired Tech yet, I like the list!:D I didn't fire Houston for playing hard and losing to Okie Lite and Air Force, but losing to Col State was too much for me.

I would love to fire some of these teams, but I can't fire undefeated teams and I really can't fire good teams that win on letdown days (USC moreso than 'bama). It's crazy to think maybe 11-1 and a loss to a Top 5 teams and wins over Top 10 teams gets you the Cotton Bowl in the Big 12.:eek:

I put it in my post. I fire teams that disgust me and Tech didn't because they never quit in a blowout vs. a great team. To a lesser extent, teams get fired for multiple losses even if they play hard, but Tech is still in the mix for the MNC Game.
