Judson vs Smithson Valley

What a great matchup between two 2 State powers. Both teams have great traditions, excellent coaching staffs and the Judson and SV fans are the best you will find.

I think it will be a close game and I hope there are no injuries for either team.

Let's fill the stadium on Friday night.

I wonder if both teams will fill the stadium. The first time Judson and SV played was the only time the stadium was full. I know it doesn't matter I just find it interesting.

Is there anyone here that is a SV supporter, that can tell me why they put a new set of lights up on yalls side of the field. It blinds the visitors and looks like yall are in shadows.

If I'm not mistaken the new one's weren't operational yet against Wagner.They westill on the ground Thursday afternoon.We jut used the old one's.The big house on the hill behind the visitor side does have some new landscaping light's this year though:D!

I could have sworn they were the new ones, since there were two sets of lights up.

The new one's are the tall one's behind the stands.The older one's are the one's closer to the field-kinda in front-thus the shadows.There will be more renovations as they go-just starting now!

A beacon of light for the long walk through the woods! Alot of SV fans have to make that walk also so it's not just the visitors.Remember to leave early-the traffic is even worse than last year.

This should be a really great game between two superior teams. Good luck to both and lets hope both come out of it healthy.

That got me into the game alot. No one gives the band credit for what they do but spending their own money to make those towels and screaming really gets the team pumped. I know alot of people in band and they all lost their voices Thursday.

i just miss them blastin' the music from those JBL speakers @ home when the team is practicing....I ♥ that cuz im jammin' to the music and sometimes i see the other teams players jammin' to it 2 too :D

Got to go with Judson by 7...we played really sloppy against Warren and I bet Rackley addressed that...we will score in the red zone this game...we were in the red zone 5 times and came up with only 9 points...score should have been much worse than it was...415 yards of Offense...against one of the top defenses in the city??? If we can start finishing the drives and stop shooting ourselves in the foot each drive deep into the red zone...we will be tough this year!!!

smithson valley has alot of rebuilding to do this year....probably more than ne other year they have had to....still no excuses that have always found way to win.i used to play for sv but i have high respect for coach rackly hes a great coach. i also have officiated judson once this year(yes i ref highschool football) they r very solid! strong d good o. judson will stick to what they have always done and run the ball and will do good with that against sv this year.sv still has a strong offense putting up 42 points against wagner last week. their defense is gonna have to find a way however to stop judsons run game look for for those lb's to cheat up....sv has always had a great defense so im sure they have something up their sleeve.both teams have great coaching staffs i hope i can make it to the game.....special teams will be HUGE in this game. i think sv has the edge tho 24-17 in my prediction.....good luck to both teams!c yall at the game

After the way Judson played last year against SV, I would imagine there is some incentive for Judson to start off better.

I think the key to this game is SV's ability to keep Judson's offense off of the field. One of the ways for SV to do that, is to keep their OWN offense on the field.

Everybody is also talking about Special Teams play in this game. Didn't Judson's kicker nail a number of kicks in the Warren game? Anyone know what the distances were?

I see this being a VERY good game myself. How good, just depends on which side you are sittin!

i can both agree and disagree with that only because yes judson to screw themselves over by not scoring in redzone...but that might also be what makes warren a top defense i think judson runs a great offense but maybe the redzon is where warren is strongest at...its gonna be a great game reguardless....when will the judson stadium be finished?

oh and to answer the question on the distances of field goals kicked...they were all in the red zone sooo im guessing between 20-35 yards....the kicker has a decent leg...nothing like taylor cowart of sv tho....smithson valley also has the reputation of big plays on special teams...so dont be surprised if one of those field goals gets blocked....;)

I miss that also! Especially (I think) the Metallica theme as they were coming out to break through the banner. And of course the Judson Rocket song and It's going Down At Judson. LOL

A game with lots of hype #1 vs. #2, two traditionally very good teams not only in SA area, but on the state level, SV's success over Judson, both rebuilt offenses who performed well last week, and a great test for both teams that can help them in the future. Last week was also a 1 vs 2 game so this should be intense. So far Judson is 1-0 in these will they make it 2-0 we have 3 days to find out?
