I can't find where information was given on some hotels that are close to the SLC stadium. I, along with some friends want to go ahead and book hotel reservations so we aren't driving back late.
Can you SLC fans post some good hotels again...something close to the stadium, something that might be close to a restaurant to eat breakfast the following morning.
Thanks.

If cost is not a consideration, The Hilton at Southlake Town Square is the closest. Grapevine has a couple of clean, economical places close by ... the Super8 on Hwy 114 and the Baymont Inn on the opposite side of Hwy 114. Both are clean and close to lots of stuff. If you want to make a real vacation out of it .... the Great Wolf Lodge or the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine.

My fav is the Hilton in Town Square, but there are tons of hotel outside the North entrance of DFW Airport that are at most 15 minutes from the stadium and there will be light traffic on the freeways on a Saturday at 4-5PM.

There are about a hundred hotels well within easy driving distance to Dragon Stadium. By easy I mean 5-6 miles. La. Quinta, Holiday Inn Express, Motel 6
Harvey House, Sheraton. When booking you want the DFW North Location in Irving. Thats about 5 miles straight west on Hwy 114 to Southlake/Dragon Stadium. And yes the Hilton at Town Square is in the heart of Southlake almost a walk to the stadium but Town Square is a huge shopping stop and if you bring the wife/SO then you'll leave broke.

I can't afford to eat or sleep in Southlake or half of Grapevine for that matter.
I recommend staying "across the tracks" in Grapevine.
Use http://www.grapevinetexasusa.com/ to find a hotel. The cheaper ones that I would use are listed closer to the bottom and match what rancher52 suggested.
There's a Denny's for breakfast that's close if you stay near SH-114. The web site also lists some breakfast places under "Family Dining". There's an IHOP close by in Southlake.

If you want an indoor water waterpark with your hotel, try the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine. About 4 miles from the stadium.

A tidbit on Great Wolf, if you are not staying there, but have other NS people that are, you can use the waterpark for $29 (as their guest).

Or, an even better idea, name your own price on Priceline for a Southlake hotel. That's foolproof. Never pay full price. I never do.

Yeah, movie theatre right there, many restaurants and what not right around it. lots of kids out walking around and stuff though, so they suck to contend with. Snuffers (right by movie theatre) is a cool place, can go there after dragon game watch some college football and get some good food. if ya go there, get their cheese fries as a side or meal. their AWESOME.

My point is: there is only ONE hotel in Southlake. I suspect if you name your price NO hotel will pick you.
Obviously there's other hotels in the surrounding cities. But you said Southlake so I was having some fun.

I appreciate all the help given.
I just like being close because I am a basket case driving in the Dallas area and I am very directionally challenged.
I have to go to the Dallas Convention Center in December for an autism convention and I've already started looking at the directions.
As long as I have info for a hotel, a good place to eat breakfast, good directions, and a place for my disabled son to be accommodated in the stadium I will have lots of fun.

Me too and I've been here 8 years. :) You don't have to be directionally challenged either; Dallas/Ft. Worth highway system is the craziest mess of worms you'll ever see. Makes NY and Houston look well-planned by comparison. The area around the airport is absolutely crazy to drive if you haven't done it before, 635 merges (dead-ends) into 121 which merges with 114 or goes thru the airport which then splits into 114 n and 121 sw. That said, try to get on 121 from 114 north without getting off the freeway, it doesn't happen. Then 121 splits again to 360 (right?) and goes on over to our brothers and sisters in the HEB area. They can describe it from there.
google map everything before you come.

I'm not real sure why ya'll are basket cases driving up there..... with all that traffic it's hard to even get above 30 on the freeways. That's easy driving. And, using Nav on your phone or TomTom makes it even easier...

basket case is the wrong phrase. In fact, I work out of the house so I seldom have to drive at all. :D For me, I drove in Houston traffic for 22 years and commuted from mid New Jersey to 30 miles into Long Island, so I know what nasty traffic is (counted bolts on the rails on Staten Island before the Verrazano Bridge). I was really trying to advise that it is a ridiculously confusing highway system in this area, and it is confusing to locals as well until they drive it enough.
Why aren't you in bed getting your beauty sleep?

Houston? Houston traffic didn't seem as bad as Dallas to me... But, it's still bad. Now I complain about sitting in traffic for 10 minutes in SA leaving work LOL
I dunno, I'm in bed, but I'm not tired. Slept too much this weekend I guess.

There are plenty of places to stay nearby, either by the airport or in Grapevine.
Dragon Stadium is very accommodating to the disabled. They have specific seats at least on the home side. I am assuming is the same way on the visitor side, but I have never been over there. If for some reason there is not, feel free to sit on the home side, we are all pretty friendly and come early and tailgate with us.

Regarding your son, come early for, we typically run short of handicapped parking. I try to reserve extra, but it gets consumed as well. You can pm me as we get close.

Yep 121 splits in 360.
but if ya take 121 the other way its 635 and another road.
and if ya stay on 114 long enough it turns to 183? and then 35? I don't even know how i got to SMU's Ford Field, but i did. Thank god for GPS. granted..i'm good with directions, so i can prolly do it without, but i couldn't tell ya road names, i just know how to drive it

In terms of hotels. I have not used price line in a long time but have used Hotwire recently and in DFW area got prices in the $70-$90 range for 4 star hotels. Just request the airport area or grapevine and you will be within 15 minutes of Dragon Stadium.

NS
The best place for your accomodations from what you said would be THE Southlake Hilton. It has plenty of restaurants around and a nice walk to some of the stores and scenery. If you want to have some of the drill team girls who dont want to go back on the bus, this would be a great place for them to unwind after Sat. before you head back. It is pretty easy to get to also. Right off 114 westbound at the Carroll exit. Just double back and you an see it you cannot miss it. Google it just in case.
As far as the stadium, it is pretty accomodating for disabled just make sure you tell the band parents parking that you need to have a spot up front and they will go out of their way to take care of you. Cheesecake Factory has a nice breakfast offering on Sunday or anytime for that fact and it is a short walk from the hotel.
Hope this helps...:D
