WHY are all 3 games at 2:00 on Staurday. Is anybody else sad about this?

Mesquite vs Rowlette 2:00 Saturday
Garland vs John Tyler 2:00 Saturday
Longview vs South Garland 2:00 Saturday

What were they thinking?? In GISD it is an open district and there are lots of fans from GISD that would like to watch more then one of the teams in the playoffs.

Just think that would have been a terrific day for football watching, 3 games at one location.

I hope they announce the scores at all the stadiums.

Just had to complain of course I will be rooting on the OWLS but I really would like to see Rowlette in their 1st play off game.

The real question is why are these games in Mesquite? Is that not just like a home game for you all? What does it take, like 20 min to get to the stadiums for the Garland schools?

I wonder the same thing because the locations were set before Friday games were played.

I wish they were all at the same place. If they were, I would expect a PACKED Rowlett side with all of the 11-5A fans that want to see them in their first playoff game.

If the Owls and Eagles win, maybe we can get a double header next week...

Too bad for the GISD that it will be a 12-5A sweep this weekend.

Just like last year.

A few different teams but the same result...imo.

So Mesquite and JT are sure winners this week huh? I guess we might as well not even show up on Sat...

I think Garland vs JT will be a tossup, but Rowlett is a better team this season that Mesquite... Longview wins in a blowout, Rowlett wins, and I cant possibly predict Garland vs JT.

yea, i really don't agree with that assessment either, Hornified....i've seen stranger things happen(remember 2 years ago??)....Garland is a very good team that doesn't get the respect that they deserve...JT really didn't show me anything friday night..i expected them to put up some kind of fight, but it didn't happen.....Rowlette is rolling and looking really good....Mesquite did squeak into the playoffs, but i sure hope that mesquite team don't show up to play saturday that showed up to get blown completely out by us...they didn't show me anything, as well..............Owl fans, you definitely have old Bleedgreen's respect.............could i say "show" just one more time??? geezzzzzzz............................

Bleedgreen.....

That Mesquite team you saw was missing their starting QB
when Longview WAXED 'em....not that it probably would've
mattered in THAT matchup.

Really though....Mesquite is lead by a VERY savy playoff
experienced coaching staff....

Anyone care to remember how they started 0-5 LAST year
yet advanced 3 rounds deep in the playoffs ??

They are facing a team in Rowlett....while lead by a very good
RB in Pierce....that has NEVER ventured into the playoffs.

There is a first time for everything......but the Mesquite experience
WILL come into play this weekend....imo.

The JT vs Garland game may very well be the tossup of the 3 games.

The key is how JT will respond after getting totally taken to the
woodshed by Longview....AND Garland is a playoff tested team
to boot.

This will be a defensive war....imo.

As for Longview vs. South Garland....well....the Colonels
ONLY hope is that Longview comes out flat after an emotional
win....which isn't going to happen.

Longview will name their score. It's that simple.

or, if our buses break down on the side of I-20 heading to Mesquite---LOL...SG will pumped about this game and giving it their all---just as Rockwall and NM did...nothing to lose, right?? why not give 110%......i still think Longview in a big way.....that was a revived Lobo team last friday night--loved every stinking moment of that blowout--LOL................

really. why couldn't they have the games back to back at one stadium. It would probably make more money and would be much more fun for the fans.

I'm pretty sure mesquite's QB was playing until one of our lineman dang near gave him a concussion. then he went out of the game and the backup stepped in. he wasn't bad either, just didn't have any playmakers around him that I could see.

I don't really think we took them lightly last time. We had a lot of players who missed that game. Our starting QB was injured, Jerrel was hurt or had the flu, Malcolm didn't pass, Roderick Allen was injured and I seem to remember a few others. Not making excuses but it was too much to overcome. Maybe we did overlook them a little, but I think all the players we were missing had a lot to do with it.

thats prob. a very true statement. I went to a couple of south games this year and their crowd turnout was horrible. I dont think i saw more than 100 people in the student section at any of the games except for the GHS v. SG game. and these were all at home games, so i cant imagine what a 20 min. drive is going to do for their turnout. o well, at least you can expect to see a lot of us Garland fans at the JT game

I'm pretty sure he was out from the week before. Their third stringer came when the second string guy got blasted. I don't know how much of a difference it would have made though. Starter Kelly Page will be a great QB for them for the next two seasons, and they have a great class coming up.

Interestingly, our first string QB did not play in the Longview game either from a knee injury suffered in the Rockwall game.

Good luck to everyone this weekend!

Mesquite's 3rd stringer is awesome also and he is a freshman. He played JV starting QB this year and you are right, great class coming up.

Go OWLS and pry no injuries.

ARE WE READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

Your right....Kelly was knocked out in the Duncanville game the week before.

You are probably right. But if the Garland and Rowlett games were at different time we would have alot more "fans" on our side. As for the game it's self: well I do my best work on another board...

With three Garland ISD games at the same time, I expect the "generic" fan from the Garland area to choose the Rowlett game, or Garland High. Better chance to win.

Hey guys, it's "Rowlett" not "Rowlette". No sissy "e" on the end, and not to be confused with "Sachsie" ;)
