Cajun and family are leaving town for a few days...Was gonna ride it out, but not feeling good about this one here...

Anyways, I'm not sure why JC decided to play this game with Trinity with a Cat 4 Huriicane bearing down on the city, but that's on him and JC..

Hope they (JC) make a good showing in Texas being they going and there's still a New Orleans to come home to after...Will try to follow it...

Best of luck to both...

Be careful and I hope you find a nice place to ride it out. Gatlinburg is lovely this time of year. But so is Memphis and for that matter, Little Rock. There's a nice Motel 6 on I-30 at Scott Hamilton drive in LR. Used to be a HoJo or something. Good rates, Waffle House adjacent, nice part of town.

Keep us updated on your whereabouts.

In our prayers.

Best of luck! I hope that the hurricane misses New Orleans and hits where it can do less damage. It does, however, look like a disaster is on it's way though. May God reign his blessings down on our great neighbors to the east! Take care!!:)

I was supprised as well.. I was talking to some folks at half time yesterday and they were saying that JC had cancelled due to the hurricane and I thought, well that makes since. Then I got home and found out they were still playing... Kinda suprised. Anyway Good luck to both although I will be rooting for the Trojans.

But more importantly to you and your family... be smart, be safe, and take care.

You will be in my prayers:)

Glad you decided not to take the risk of riding it out. I hope it misses N.O. and hits in a place of least destruction for all. Good luck. Have safe journey.

Good luck, cajun! God bless you and keep you safe.

I hope that the Trinity fans and all football fans give John Curtis a standing ovation tomorrow when they come on the football field for deciding to play. That was a hard decision for the boys' families to make and God bless them for doing it. I just pray that this doesn't cause a hardship on any of the JC football team, coaches, and their families.

See ya tomorrow at Texas Stadium!

Take care and, most of all, be safe. It really brought it home for me yesterday that this is going to be a huge storm when I saw over 100 charter busses, about 60 red cross vehicles, 50 school busses and 25 army vehicles pass me on I-10 when I was going to San Antonio. That tells me one thing - that they are far more prepared this time and for that, many people can be thankful. I hope it's not as bad as they are saying. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. God speed.

FYI

Direct TV channel 361 is showing WDSU LA. news which is able to cover the storm in N.O. in a way the larger networks may not.

Landfall in Morgan City, LA around 10 AM unless the NGFDL for 07L kicks in but we're running out of water very quickly for a shift. A 40 cm dump of H2O in ET is still not out of the question.

Everyone from Louisiana be safe. I hate these huge storms that come rolling in.

I have to agree somewhat. I dont realize why this game is being played. There is a potential major "National Disaster Emergency" knocking on the front door of Louisiana (New Orleans) and they want to play a HS football game ???

I'm as diehard as anyone about HS football but....???? I think some people have their proirities a little scewed on this one.

I think it is being played, because everyone is safer up here playing a football game instead of staying behind!

Anyway, Take Care Cajun!

I understand that everyone is safer in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area compared to New Orleans. That's a no brainer.

But, lets look at the bigger picture. Families might be seperated while an Emergency is taking place and ect. It just seems to me that the mental mindset of the Louisiana kids, Coaches and families wont be 100% on this game when such a bigger event (Major Hurricane) is hitting their hometown.

Just my 2 cents but like Cajun said, "That's on them."

I just hope everyone stays SAFE.

And cajun stay safe. Alot of my friends in Houston are evacuating (well they probably are gone by now) and I have visited some downtown and we came up tonight from CC to help out my Aunt's family with a place to stay!

Stay safe Cajun!

And..correct me if I'm wrong, but there was another school from the N.O. area that was suppose to play in Texas Stadium today, and they cancelled. Is that true?

Appreciate the well wishes...Been a rough few days...Got the power back yesterday and cable today-alot of people around still with no power, so we are lucky...Been picking up sticks until I'm tired of picking them up though..Could have been alot worse...Other than the trees we didn't pick up much water and had really no damage to the house...

Anyways, thanks again!...
