Not looking ahead, just figured i would make this early to get trash talking started since in every forum so far about 26 and 25 5a, everyone else is talking about this matchup so why not just put them all together and post here? who wins this game, all out details?

Why do you think SV needs to get better? Last week they were playing very good. I would say that based on SV's level of play right now, it is about where Clemens is. How do you argue that it isnt?

Even if they do need to get better, when has SV not gotten better come playoff time. I'll go with SV in region 4 until proven other wise.

I'm not sure what they're selling over there in Schertz, but it must be nice! Team confidence is one thing, but saying that SV needs to "get significantly better" in order to beat Clemens is outright assinine.

Could be. SV has had some close calls, but 265 is not real easy. As a matter of fact is is the toughest in the state. District champs in 265 is a feat in itself.

well let's see i've been to about all but 3 of their games this year...and i've been to all but one of clemens games this year...and i can honestly say that sv should watch out for clemens if they even get passed SM...which i doubt they will...but its sv they can pull a win out against n e one in the playoffs...xcept SC or SLC ;)

ok all i'm sayin is sv lost to churchill 14-10 they got outplayed by a team that didn't even make the playoffs...and they nearly lost against reagan, a team that hasn't made the playoffs ever...and they damn near blew a 2 td lead in the 4th quarter to Mac...the only game they looked like a playoff contenter in was against judson...who barely got into the playoffs...but i'm just stating facts...sv's gotta be my 2nd favorite team and by no means am i talkin trash...just stating my opinion

yeah it is nice...btw...and maybe i was outta line saying that they need to get a lot better...lemme rephrase and say that...if they don't bring their A game...which i've seen sv do a few times this year...sc will send them home again...but i've seen sv play to their potential and sc play to their potential w/o james henry against sm...who can flat out dominate a football game; and i like clemens chances...just my opinion

Unless Clemens was playing the same teams as SV there is no way you can say SC is playing better.Were gonna get to see what kind of Playoff coach SC has.We know what SV has in coaching in the playoffs.Who knows,maybe SC`s coaches are better,but they`ll have to prove it first.The real season begin! :)

Mac ,& Reagan were in the bag.And stayed in the bag.Playoff contender only against Judson lol.Madison was undeafeated in the district just 2 weeks ago.We had them 31-14,with 2 and half minutes to go.And we started out behind!

The fact is SV`s Has just got the Original starting tailback(out since wk 2), back against Roosevelt (Schrock) 2 TD`s ,one recieving,and one rushing.And play off level is here.We know what it feels like to loose.Sometimes a team needs that feeling,to not get there again. We have given SM soooo much to defend the last 2 games,that thier head will be spinning from all the film.And the playoff trick plays are just comming out of the closet.

I would also add if you want to use the Churchill line that SV is the only team that faced Churchill with Nick Fanuzzi. If you don't think that makes a difference you haven't seen them play.

I think the district was even more of a cupcake when SV was in it. There wasn't a SM or Seguin but all SV did was run to the State Title game the first year then beaten by a very good Clemens team the next year. So I understand SC's pain.

sv made of complained about not getting respect but at least they could back up there pleading when they just go deep into the playoffs 3 out of the last 4 years. excpet one where the team may not have been as good and still should have beat clemens in the 2nd round except for a rowdy francis fumble return for a TD. Until u guys make it as the region 4 champs then yall can start talking and utnil then get over yourselves for winning a district. make a run then we'll all respect yall. let the games talk for you clemens people.

From an outsiders standpoint for anyone that cares. I have to agree with SV playing up and down this year, but they do play in arguably the toughest district in the state. I think from this point on we will see more of the ups and less of the downs. Clemens obviously has a good team that plays great defense. I think they are slightly unproven at no fault of their own. If playoff tradition and strong coaching holds true then I give a slight edge to SV.

That's a much better post. I agree that SC is a good team. If SV and SC meet, it will be a great game, and one that I might have to try to drive to come see. The truth of the matter is this: it is the playoffs, and every team had better bring their "A game" for every game or they go home. Every team you face from here on out is a very good football team. There's no more talk about weak/strong districts, past performance, etc. It's all about showing up for one night and getting it done.

OK, your right, Judson, Madison, and SV are going to the playoffs, right? Which in turn means that Judson and Madison had to beat the teams that played close games with SV, right? SV beat both Madison and Judson..My point is that every team in the district except Lee were very strong contenders at times.

So you have been to 7 Rangers games, and 9 Clemens games? How is that possible. Please let us know which Ranger games you attended. There are about 6 games where you would have had to be at both games at once?? Please explain. Even if it were true, you did not see each team play the same teams.

In reality, I think San Marcos scares me a bit more than Clemens. Don't take this the wrong way Clemens fans, but you take away the interception and the kickoff return for a touchdown, you may have a different outcome your game with them. I just hope we get a chance to play yall. All are good teams,time will tell, then we all need to support whoever the winner of region 4 is.

We won the region title in 03' when we beat SV in the game you are speaking of and before that in 99' in 4a when we also sent SV home! :) :p

Who is we? I see that you list that you're from SA and not SV???

As far as the kickoff return and the INT return, isn't defense and special teams a part of the game? At least that is what I've read here posted by SV fans many times in the past when they are outgained in yardage in a game, sometimes damn near double the yards! ;)

You are exactly right about defense and special teams. The point I was trying to make is that in an earlier post a clemens fan pointed out that SV did not exactly blowout the teams in their district. SC did not either except for the weaker teams. If Clemens and SV plays and Clemens wins, great, I will support the Buffs and region IV. You have an outstanding program. yeah and there was prolly about 4 games the sv played that if they hadn't had a int. or fumble recovery or blocked punt the game could have very well gone the other way for them....but those hustle stats win games bottom line

The only time that I saw SV and SM in the playoffs was in 4a. I'll tell you this much, this is the best team they have ever fielded by far! I still cannot understand how they lost to even a power house 4a team this year. They are for real and they are going to give SV a big test in the first round! I'll be there to see it first hand on Saturday! Like I said in another thread, I'll be the one on SV's side wearing a SM cap, SC shirt with a copy of the SA Express News Sports page that has front page headlines reading "Buffs Stampede Mavs" & "Matadors Blanket Rockets", just in case you want to high five me when the Rattlers score! LOL :D
