Ok gang - let's hear it - good, bad or otherwise - what are you quirks, superstitions or suggestions for playoff travel. Here's mine:

1) I wear the exact same thing for every playoff game if we win round 1 from there out - from the hat to the shoes (except underwear and socks) -- unless it's pouring rain or below 50 degrees.

2) I never eat during a close game unless someone brings me something. I sip on water or a coke - that's it. Only after the game is in control will I got buy something to eat at the stadium.

3) I always turn to the person next to me during warm-ups and say "the other team looks big to me - how about you?" It's just something I have to say. I've learned it means nothing - but I still say it.

4) Never leave a metro area hoping to get food on the way home if you travel big. Anything in Madosonville will have 500 people in it after an p.o. game at A&M.

There's four - how about more?

Whenever the bi-district game happens it has always been at Texas Stadium for every game I've been to. There's a certain pole that I always kick for good luck. I don't kick it hard to hurt myself of anything it's just kind or tapping it with my foot really. Now that's about as far out as it gets but we haven't lost a bi-district game for as long as I've been in high school. :D

Does that mean that if it's pouring rain or below 50degrees you WILL wear the same underwear and socks? GROSS!!!

You're killing me RN ;) Last year at the Pflugerville game I, and every other sane fan, was dressed for a full rain storm. Fortunately it rained virtually nothing during the game - but we almost drowned getting home from CStation.

I had that happen a few years back when ECA played Comeaux down in Lafayette.. Dad and I were prepared for it to rain the entire game and dressed for it.. As did the rest of the folks there.. It didnt rain a drop for the game.. The whole way back to Shreveport, it poured...

Well ....I am Baptist...so I guess you are sort of right.

A little disgusting but hey its tradition and I know nearly all of you do the same thing.

I CANNOT pee before the game and I CANNOT go until it is over. I go before the start and if necessary I go after the game is finished. During last years Clear Lake-Katy game I felt like my kidneys were gonna burst but I never went to the bathroom (that overtime probably took a year or two off my life), the greatest feeling was going after winning that game.

1. I wear the same hat that I start the year with to every game and the same lucky T-shirt under my purple Sideliner Shirt. The shirt says "We own Friday nights" and we haven't lost a regular season game in two years when I have worn the shirt. I do wash it and even though I had to wear it on Saturday, Wednesday and Monday games this year, it still works.

2. I make sure I throw the football on the field before the game.

3. We alway eat chicken and buscuits after a win on the road without fail, the tradition started in Longview in 1999 and we haven't lost to Longview since then.

I am not sure any of that works, but most everyone has some little ritual they do before a game.

Relax Wide.. I am NOT in Temple.. I'm still in Austin... I'm just trying out being a Temple fan.. I tried being a Longview fan for a few days..Didn't work.. Made me feel dirty.. Inside...
I tried to be a Garland fan for a little while today.. But Garland is trashy.. (see thread about Garland's coach)
Now, I am trying out for Temple. The Jesuits wont have me.. I think I may have offended them last week.
Nobody in Austin will forgive me for saying they play "flag" football down here.
ECA is in Louisiana.. I am not...
Smackover is in Arkansas..*see above*
SLC is too rich for me..
I'm a Redneck'n without a cause...

They're like Temple aren't they? You know, 0-10...hahaha...
They were actually my first choice.. But I didn't know their mascot was.. And I didnt want to make one up for fear of being banned from this site...

I actually considered being a Longview fan.. But they aren't going to make it past Lufkin this year and I want to be able to root for a team the entire season. :D
Contrary to what many people on here think (big arab) I do respect Longview. Just not a whole lot...

Laredo United South Panthers-so they have at least one thing going for them. And Temple would probably beat them by 40!

You're making me look tame PA - where do you get biscuits after every game - do you bring them?

CLFalcon - you need to give the not going to the bathroom gig up for crying out loud - that could be bad for you.

Katy Fan

1. Always wear a shirt that is the other team's color.
2. Wear red but no one can see it.
3. Anytime I see a car or a sign with the Katy or the Katy logo on it I "throw the K" (sign for K in sigh language).
4. When walking through the parking lot to the game I hold the K sign.

5. Try to go to Chili's and have a few adult sodas before Friday night home games.

1. Lock the dressing room door. I remember in 94 at the Katy / Plano game, 3 kids were in Plano locker room taking thier money during the game. Some people tackled them in the parking lot and all was ok. Very strange.

I have a red shirt I purchased especially for the 03 championship game - NS vs. Woodlands. I have not worn it since.

Hopefully will get a chance to wear it this year - when NS plays for the 05 Championship.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but Longview's D coordinator hasn't shaved for most of the season. He told the players he wouldn't shave until they lost. Not really superstitious but worth mentioning none the less.

That's just being too lazy to shave...It's called uncouth...

No, kidding... I like it when people do that kind of thing.. For some reason, it seems to inspire people to try harder...
