Who wins?

Why are you saying that this game will take place? They both have to win their first playoff games before this happens. Amarillo should be their but I don't think they get any further than 2 rounds.

Because BOTH teams should win convincingly this week.

Don't overlook Midland. They're not bad at all. I think they have a really good chance of beating North Crowley.

I would agree with you in part by saying Amarillo should win that ball game against El Paso whoever. But saying that North Crowley will beat Midland Convincingly is a big stretch.

I could not agree with you more. While both of these districts are not up to par with some of the other area districts, I think Midland definitely is in a position to win this game. They played a very good Abilene team very tough before losing. At any rate, which ever team comes out of this game alive, Amarillo has little chance of getting past either one. I think Midland beat Amarillo during the reg season by 3 or 4 scores... am I wrong?

Yes, I would agree that Amarillo has little chance in the second round. And yes the 1 loss for Amarillo was against Midland 35-6. I wish all teams good luck.

Amarillo has a pretty decent team, esp. when all their troops are healthy. The EP area produces 1 or 2 fairly good teams for a playoff berth, but they are no match for Midland (neither is Amarillo). I think Amarillo could be EP Whoever. I don't really know much about N. Crowley, but I have to believe that N.C. will have plenty of trouble w/ Mid. Mid. has an excellent team--they're just in a tough dist.

If he balls out NC wins-it wont be close, if Midland contains Panfil then I give them a chance. NC has a history of winning games they are underdogs in. ala--2003 state semi's and state title game.

You're joking right? Midland High will beat NC by two TD's. Amarillo will beat most EP schools. But I think this time next week, NC has a full basketball team.

I just hope North Crowley gets a little respect here if they do take care of business against Midland.

They will. I expect them to go at least 3 deep in the playoffs. Their that good. I know because I seen them play this year.

Have you seen Midlands RB?? He is the best in district, and I would go on to say one of the best in the state. There is no way NC d holds him down, he will get his yards either steady or with a few big plays. He was all Abilene's defense could handle; and the Eagles have a very good D. The key match up will be NC's offense vs. the Midland D and I think they have what it takes to compete. In fact I think this is Midland's game to lose.

This post is AFTER the fact that Midland beat NC. Midland is a very good football team. Tha Abilene High Eagles did beat them and in Midland but I tell you we are happy to have them behind us, at least for now.
Barron Batch is a great running back for Midland High BUT he isn't a one man show.
Congratulations to NC for making the playoffs again and to Midland High for advancing.

I was going to start a thread, but I will just post in this one. Midland High totally dominated the entire game last night. Baron Batch put on a show, including a highlight reel run in the 2nd half. NC's qb looked like he could be good, but he didnt have any time last night at all. I am pretty sure he spent more time on his butt than he did standing up. I was really feeling sorry for him. I think if Midland wins this week, it will put them up against SLC. The dragons better not overlook them. Their defense was swarming last night, and the offense can control the clock. I would love for them to play that game in Abilene at Shotwell. Congrats to the Dawgs and good luck the rest of the way.
By the way...The NC has one heck of a leg. He booted a 57 yarder as time ran out last night.

Since Amarillo handled EP easily perhaps some of you will start to take notice. The Sandies are clicking on all cylinders now. Their defense is a nightmare, the running game is unreal, and kyler hill is worthy of some all-state recognition as qb.Midland did beat Amarillo earlier in the season. But Hill was only playing his second game at qb after filling in for starter blake vaughn who was lost for the year. Since then hill has only thrown for 17td's and 3 ints. he is young, but now has confidence and the confidence of his team... The Sandstorm is coming!

I think you should be proud of the Sandies, they have had a good season. MHS is much stronger than the team that won the first matchup and they dominated a North Crowley team that was supposed to have a very strong defense and a great passing attack. They were district 4-5A champs and we shut them down. Might want to start airing up those basketballs ;)
I am guessing that since there was no reply by scooter on this thread he must still be eating a big helping of crow. :D

"Before you can win a game, you have to not lose it." I wouldn't call it total domination but Midland is a very good team. North Crowley did a lot to hurt themselves. The Bulldogs didn't so much as beat as the Panthers as the Panthers lost the game to the Bulldogs. About the time someone on defense--Charles Davis, Terryn Taylor, Jheron Hobbs or Devin Reich, to name a few--would get the party started, NC would find a way to shoot themselves in the paw. NC rang up 17 first downs to Midland's 11, punted two fewer times than they did and had 1/3 fewer penalties.

5 of those first downs were on Penalties by us. I wonder how many 4th down conversions you made. Cause you were having to use all 4 downs all night. Plain and simple reason why you lost was you couldn't run the football, your QB had no time, and you give up the big play on Defense. I guess its just a matter of time before Midland Busts one when no one is deeper than 5 yrds in the secondary.

Don't forget the two interceptions we had that were negated by penalties. North Crowley couldn't penetrate the red zone. MHS was better prepared and the better team.
