Not sure if it was the New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson or ESPN, but someone stated that TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL has larger attendance figures than the Saints game in Baton Rouge yesterday. ESPN estimated the actual crowd was 20,000.
So, where do the Saints rank in attendance compared to 5A playoffs? I say there will be a minimum of 5 to 7 playoff games that have over 25,000 in attendance this year.

but when you look at team's like that they have to be like a decent team year in year out to actually grab attention

I keep hoping that the Saints will come on over to SanAntonio.. Louisiana needs to let them go... Costing too much to keep 'em.

The saints were already a burden, not just on New Orleans, but on the entire state. I hate to kick someone while their down but keeping the saints would divert more money from badly needed reconstruction programs. Not to mention that nealry 300000 people are not going back to louisiana, the saints simply can no longer be profitable there.

Good point CL - they were unprofitable before this whole mess - being propped up by the State -- they will end up in LA or SA - hopefully Texas gets the Saints.

I have heard that Benson will want a new stadium and I don't think that will happen in SA.

probably wouldnt happen in LA either. If hes gonna move the team which he almost has to, he's gonna chose between the old Alamodome, the old LA Colesium/college rose bowl/ whatever it is they have in LA, or the broken and damaged Superdome.
Honestly with the fact that NO cant support a team and LA has had all of its franchise problems which dont appear to be going away, I would move to San Antonio.
Tagliabue and the NFL will try their hardest to get the team in LA but it will probably go to SA

I think what Benson will be most concerned with is a city that support the team and allow the team to be profitable. I'd love to see the Saints go to San Antonio, but the concern there will be whether the team can be profitable. I'm not sure San Antonio has enough residents with enough discretionary income to purchase tickets and merchandise. The city already has the Spurs, so the NFL has to look at whether the city can support another professional sports team (which I beleive was part of the problem with McCombs wanted to bring the Vikings to SA). Los Angeles, on the other hand, obviously has the ability to support a team, its just a matter of getting the people behind the team, which I believe would be harder than in San Antonio.

SA is a growing city and is rapidly developing as a technology and medical center. The people of SA have already proven that they will come to NFL games and if the saints do move there I beileve that organization will only go up. If the team does move, I really hope it goes to SA.
