Well, I like statistics, so I thought I would compile something here. Here are the toughest districts in 5A based on the 5ATexasFootball.Com Pre-Season Top 25 Poll. These are the current results with 19/25 teams ranked so far.

The Results:

With Three Teams:

15-5A

With Two Teams:

3-5A
6-5A
11-5A
12-5A
13-5A
14-5A

With One Team:

5-5A
7-5A
9-5A
19-5A
23-5A
25-5A
26-5A

I will update this as the rankings complete themselves.

Here is a breakdown of the districts with the most teams ......

3-5A = Midland Lee, Abilene Cooper, Odessa Permian, Odessa High, Abilene High and Midland High

6-5A = Euless Trinity, Irving MacArthur, Hurst LD Bell, Irving, Coppell, South Grand Prairie, Irving Nimitz and Grand Prairie

11-5A = South Garland, North Garland, Garland, Garland Rowlette, Garland Lakeview Center, Garland Naaman Forest and Garland Sachse

13-5A= Belton, Bryan, A&M Consolidated, Copperas Cove, Harker Heights, Shoemaker, Temple and Waco

15-5A = Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Round Rock McNeil, Round Rock Westwood, Georgetown, Leander, Round Rock, and Round Rock Stony Point.

Seems like itll be a tough road for Permian.

I'd say the last couple of years all-around you have to throw 22-5A in there. I saw a story not too long ago in the Houston Chronicle, can't find the link . Just off the top of my head, I remeber Humble and Westfields girls basketball teams going far with Westfield winning it all in 04. Westfield Football-State finalist
Kingwood Basketball- State Champions
Woodlands Baseball- Still going.

Just going of memory...somebody help me out.

I was just about to say 22-5A. Woodlands is in 14-5A not 22-5A. ;)

you're right, not the Woodlands. It's actually Humble and Kingwood still in the Regional Semi-finals. But I still think 22-5A is pretty good.

Updated, with a mistake fixed. It seems that 15-5A is the toughest district so far.
