Time to chime in on who will come out of Region 4 in D1 this year. Will this be the year a Valley Team comes to the front, or will the San Antonio area continue to dominate? What are your thoughts?

This may be the weekest Region ever. La Joya may actually have a chance, but I'd bet the winner of the second round game between Judson/Seguin and O'Connor will win it and then get beat in the semi-finals.

Weakest Region Ever? Maybe "Balanced" is a better term. Remember that that Segion/Judson/O'Connor have played some outstanding teams like SV, Clemens, Jay, and others. I agree that the Region 4 winner will come down to Judson/Seguin and O'Connor ..but what lies ahead in the Region 3 matchup is a killer....Lamar/Westfied and North Shore/Pearland...That's a 38-0 Record...and I can't see anyone..in any Region matching up with them..

No Mad Hatter, it's just that your 26-5a is not up to par this year! LOL

I hope that question is directed at Mad and not me because I didn't bring SC into this thread, he did!
Since I'm here now, I have to know what in the hell happened against JJ this weekend? I got back Sunday evening and read the Sat and Sun Sports pages and could not beleive that they spanked OC that badly! Are they that good, or did OC just play a horrible game?

Judson will win the region like they do most years. They're going back to Judson of old. That semifinal game will not go like you guys are saying it will go.

It's simple...Jay came to play and OC took a nap. Jay's two RB's were never touched. OC's youth definitely showed and hopefully they will remember that feeling and come to play this weekend against Victoria...Jay will do quite well in D2 and may be the team that shocks the Buffs or SV.....

You could be right, but I'm just in shock to see them still playing good football at this time of the year! Usually they start out playing great and end up being terrible by the end of the year! Good for them! If we get a shot at them I'm sure that it will be a really good game. Good luck Panthers.

We do have several very good running backs that can get the job done. But, when you lose a player like James it still hurts that you don't have a guy who can take it to the house on any play of the game! HS kids that are 6'2", 215 pounds with that kind of speed and agility do not come along very often! We still have a very solid team without him and the kids still beleive that they can get it done.

If it's Westfield; they're coming to SA.

I don't think that playing them in SA will really matter though! I would say that if they did play Judson @ the Rockets Stadium it still wouldn't matter much unless Judson improves a whole bunch in the next 3 weeks! ;) But whoever wins our region, I'll be right there supporting them against the other regions! :) GO MATADORS!!!! :D

You have got to be out of your mind! The Judson of old??? I'll give credit where credit is due and they played their A$$E$ off last Friday night to get into the playoffs and deserve to be there, but the Judson of old. You've got to be joking! Come on Lonny!

He was referring to play calling (6 pass attempts) and enthusiasm being more like the "Judson of old". Clemensbuff, were you at the Judson game last Friday? It was probably the only game that most resembled how Judson typically plays.

Yes, I was talking about playcalling.
I agree it's foolish to assume Seguin won't show up, but it's even more foolish to assume Judson doesn't have anything left in the tank. We've already had 2 out of town Hall of Famers pick Judson as their darkhorse team in D1. Churchill should've buried Judson when they had the chance. Now some teams are going to pay for it.
No, my seat isn't good over here. Good thing it's free! :D

Nope, wasn't there but I wished I was! It sounds to me that maybe Rackley has stepped into the O - coordinator's back a little and put that spread crap up until next year and decided to just sprint to the line of scrimmage and run the ball right down your throat! If that is the case, maybe, just maybe, they could be coming back into form and make a run. But, I still have some good feelings about the Mats in this one though. If CJ does win, I'll pull for them against all comers from there on except maybe OC! GO 25-5A!

I'll agree, Judson is getting healthy again. They had some key injuries during the middle of the season that affected them more than most expected. Most of those players have returned and the team is getting back on track. But make no mistake, the play calling has improved and just in the nick of time. Go Rockets!

Judson should be able to beat Sequin, however...it is highschool football. I have read the board for quite sometime, just was never an active participant. I have seen nearly all the games the past 10 seasons, both home an away. Ant given night someone can win thats not suppose to. Judson has:
*potential
*ability
*fan support
*and history on their side
Sequin is the up and comer that is ready to take the the NAME of Judson this year. In years past, I would have told anyone to hold onto your $6, its a blowout by Judson. Not this year though. Nothing appears to be a lock. Do I think Judson will win, YES!!! Does Seguin have a chance to win, again yes. I am not suiting up Friday night and neither are the rest of us. I can only hope and pray that Judson is really back to the "old Judson way" and continues their strong push.

I think I'll 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th that one, except maybe the part about taking the name of Judson. A couple of good years from the Matadors doesn't stack up against the the storied history of the Rockets. Seguin has a talented team, no doubt, but Judson isn't history yet. I think they still have some fight left in them. Go Rockets!
