Defense was stifling, offense was hit-and-miss.
MacArthur was really undermanned, a short bench on a hot night and a lot of kids going both ways. I doubt they are going to fare very well in their district, to be honest. Their QB was absolutely ZERO threat to throw the ball.
We'll have to play a lot better to beat Spring two weeks from now, but I'd say the QB situation looks really good with two kids splitting time, either of whom can both throw and run. Playcalling was conservative and as a result Mac was able to slow down the running game. When we decide we can open up the offense, it'll loosen up the defenses and Rodney Anderson and Tim Graves will run wild.
Haven't seen the stats, but I will be surprised if MacArthur had much more than 100 yards total offense. They never threatened to score.

Sadly missed the opener but held Mac to 102 yds total offense but from the sounds of it Mac didn't have anything. I liked the 2 QB system though, both had 7 or 8 attempts completing 5 and both had a TD pass. Lets see now what they can do with two weeks to prepare for Spring. Great to hear a Stratford blow out, good to see the QB's stepping it up against someone other than Stratford kids.

Hey Mr. King. Being up here in Arkansas I probably wont get to see any games unless our boys can keep it going til thanksgiving. So anyways, do you know who the starters are? I looked on the roster and its completely different than what it was a year ago.

Glad to hear Stratford starting off good! I've been out of the loop. I get to see Christopher and Jeff's parents today!

So the Spartans passing was pretty good? I saw them in a 7 on 7 game this past summer and I thought the receivers looked better than what A. Luck had to work with. Of course that's 7 on 7 but I just wanted to hear how that aspect was for Stratford.

Talking with a few coaches who got to scout the game, I was told MacArthur dressed 27 players, but one of them got hurt so it became 26. Wow. It might be a looong season for Drones and co.

According to my source of everything SHS football while I am away said that they hardly had anyone come during two a days and they started school a week ago and still had hardly anyone show up... this is sad from a team that was very very talented a few years ago making the play offs. I have a lot of respect for their coach, he had done a great job with getting Mac to a point where they could compete against the other schools in the Aldine district but now its sad to hear where they are going in terms of participation and all around talent. At least we know which team will finish dead last in their new district.
