It depends on how JT reacts to last week's game.
Will they go in hanging their heads or will Brooks have them up and ready for a playoff run?
Personally, if they don't come out in the 1st half like they have all season and do nothing..Garland will win this one.

agreed---if JT comes out flat from that shlacking that they took friday night, Garland will take this one...Garland may take this one anyway--those guys are on a headhunting mission--playing really good ball....this is a toss-up......

I know its every senior's last chance at a state title in this great state of Texas, but because Garland has so many seniors on the team, I think we have even more drive than most teams. We especially want to get to round 2 so we can have that second chance at Dallas Carter and after that, its hard to say.

I think this game has more to do with can Garland contain JT's mobile QB and passing game, the health of #40, and accuracy of Hunter than the number of seniors we have...I dont really know enough about TJT and who they have played to make an accurate prediction.

Obviously the number of seniors on your team doesn't win it for you...I was talking intangeables...like if the game was tied at skills and talent-wise, I think Garland will have a bigger crowd and the seniors only add to the intageable factor (btw how do yuo spell that...intangeable?)

This one will come down to the Garland defense playing like it has all year. If we can get pressure on taht QB and force a couple turnovers Garland should win it. If we allow JT to get all kinds of time to throw the ball then we could have trouble.
Hey how good is JT run defense

JT's run defense is pretty stout......Vondrell only had 107, but on 12 carries as well...still got his 8.8 yards a carry, but 2 of those runs were for 30 and 39 yards....Ivory was held to 40 yards i believe---not too bad on stopping the run......the pass killed them(but Longview don't have a passing game, right??--LOL)in combination with a crazy, flying around defense that was putting pressure on Kendall(QB for JT), knocking people sideways, and forcing alot of mistakes and turnovers...threw them completely off of their game....if you let Kendall breathe any and start to run alot, it will be a long day for Garland...this guy is amazing---just couldn't tell it friday night........Kendall took some vicious blows friday night--left the game in the 3rd with an injury...i think he could have came back in, but the JT coaches probably decided it was best for him to sit out and prepare for playoffs....no need to put your starter back in being down 42-0.......

I agree with you but Kendall Hunter is the LB and Kerry Maddox is the QB. He was hurt earlier this season but I am not sure if he still hurt? I haven't heard from him. BTW, I don't think it will be 42-0, Kendall Hunter would be the most picked for the JT and thats going to boost up there defense.

Kendall Hunter was John Tyler's Junior RB before he was injured for the season 6 weeks ago. And that 42-0 was referring to the JT/Longview game.

I'm really thinking we'll meet Longview again here pretty soon. It all depends on how Maddox bounces back from the worst game of his short career at qb. To no fault of his own his inexperience at the qb position killed us. Afterall, he was a db last season. Usually his athletic ability would have gotten us by but the Lobos were just as fast. If Garland isn't putting the same caliber of athlete as did the Lobos....I really like our chances. Kerry has been playing hurt for at least 4 games now and that is starting to take it's toll. The defense will keep us in games as long as the offense sustains drives and keeps them off of the field. I think in the Longview game...JT thought they could win, while Longview knew they would win..Big difference. This should really be a good judge of where we really are. BARRING INJURIES, NOBODY'S GONNA BEAT LONGVIEW!!!

I was surprised to see JT go down like they did to Longview. I am thinking they will be extremely down and will not be able to put enough together to beat Garland. That is unless Garland is too worried about a rematch with Carter in Round 2!
By the way, this thread has gone way to long without the constant whining of Roughrider! Where's he at--another band competition?

I don't think Garland will be too focused on a re-match with Carter with JT in their path. Perhaps, if they had been matched up with Horn, but not with JT.

I think they might make a good run...last year nobody expected Mesquite to have the success they did in the playoffs...I think JT will suprise some people this year...I really hope they get to see Carter. So I think they win this one....late.

JT is my cinderella pick. I think they have a chance to beat anyone until they come across one of the top in the state.

5 of 7 for like 153...and 2? touchdowns...I'll take that anyday...Defense played extremely well...so they couldn't put up big yardage numbers...unless they had moved the endzone to the hill.
