View Full Version : Question for Lufkin fans...
Has J. Lane always been that chunky? Watching the A&M v. Tech game tonight, he really showed quite a bit of "gut" for a college running back. He looked more like a college freshman just initiated into a fraternity. Anyways, just wondering if he's put on weight since high school. I saw him play once in person, and though he's always been a big guy, I do not recall thinking him to look out of shape. The Aggie coaches need to make a decision on where he'll play the next 3 years and get the boy to get into that kind of shape - either continue to add bulk or trim down a bit to help the quicks. The kid has amazing talent and potential at a number of positions. I just hope Fran and the boys don't screw him up.

He has always been big but he has really turned for the worse. Way too over-weight to contribute.

Lane, at Lufkin played at about 230 as a sophomore, 245 as a junior and 250-255 as a senior. He is about 265 or more now, but I guess that A&M hasn't made any demands that he get his weight down, because the kid has really gotten bigger this year. On a side note, Lane's father is 6'8" and 270lbs, so size does run in the family.

Isn't his brother J. Finley at UT about the same size too? I think they have him at TE.
