SLC spread, Plano defense best against the spread in the Massey polls.

SLC defense weak, Plano power style big against predics upset 34-7 Plano that is if SLC can survive against Abilene.

This might be the best defense the Dragons have ever taken into the playoffs as a 5A school so far.

If you have to talk smack on here, then you might not actually be as confident as you are letting on. My advice, although you didn't ask for it, would be to let the players do the talking on the field.

Plano's got DeSoto to worry about first.

When a lower ranked team beats a higher ranked team, it is called and upset.

Rankings are nothing more than "educated" guesses.

The 5A DII playoff bracket is imposing. With so many of the state's strong teams in it, it harkens back to the days prior to 1990 when it was a unified playoff field.

It will take more than talent to win in such a competitive environment; it will also take some luck.

Many should be wary of projecting their team to make the state finals, teams such as Plano Senior High School and Southlake Carroll may not survive to play in that game.

It's rare that a team comes barging into the playoffs without playoffs experience and wins a title. You usually have to build your way up to win a title.

I wanted Plano to play DR because of posts the last couple weeks that DR would beat Plano. I think Plano can beat Desoto and i think SGP will beat DR.

D2 should have some great games and these matchups are IMO the best in the nation.

In the showdown the kid is the one that left the field in a pine box. The only way the veteren was killed was if somebody ambushed him and shot him in the back! (upset).

I did all the math on district winning percentages, for teh heck of it and to see which district had the highest winning percentage and posted it on I Believe in Rocket Pride. SLC's road has been tougher to this point and their experience should be able to carry them past, whoever they play in the Quaterfinals. And it will not be Plano.

Why do you talk like that? I see on other threads all these people cool as hell congratulating Plano on their great year. I don't get all of your smack talking. It just makes you look stupid and Plano look stupid. I don't care about you, but I do care how Plano looks.

The cool thing about high school is that we get to settle it on the field. We get to see who is the best. Just enjoy the games instead of looking like a fool.

comparing scores like that is meaningless. you would have to compare Plano's 52-14 win over Fossil Ridge with SLC's score of 55-24 too. And then, could you compare SLC to Flower Mound & Marcus based on their scores against Grapevine? of course not.

Plano's district's record overall is 40-40 which is 50% on the year. You take away Plano and they are 30-40 on the year. SLC's district's record overall is 44-36 which is 55% on the year. You take SLC away and their district's record is 34-36 on the year. The teams in Slc's district have a better winning percentage than Plano's district. That is why I am saying SLC's district is tougher.

Plano actually played best against their toughest competition this year. They beat East and Allen by a combined 69-14 and dismantled Fossil Ridge... while having a little trouble with the Flower Mound schools. This team seems to rise up and the scare last Friday is a blessing in disguise. If SLC thinks they are going to steamroll Plano they have another thing coming. If both teams make it that far of course.

Plano's district is better from 1-6 (slightly). They do have two really bad teams at the bottom as opposed to SLC's district which has one really bad team at the bottom.

Both districts top 6 teams are 40-20. But I give the edge to Plano's district based on the fact that the 5th & 6th best teams both beat Grapevine which is somewhere form 2nd to 4th best team in SLC's district. There is not much else to go by.

I think it is probably safer to say the districts are very equal, than try to say either one of them is better than the other.

I don't know why you guys are so fixated on Carroll, you really need to focus on whats in front of you. If your lucky enough to play the Dragons down the road, you can count on the fact that they will give you a good game and will respect you as an opponent. I caught a few games this year -- I got to state the obivious -- Plano has a temendous running game -- good to see them go old school again when all the rage is the Spread Defense. -- Plano is going "Mano a Mano" and daring teams to stop them because everyone knows what there going to do. Kind of reminds me of the wing T teams that Odessa Permian use to have back in the '80s before the wheels fell off.

I know it's a long shot that SLC doesnt win, but hey! you jus tcant look over the 1st round like you can predict the future. i think that's one reason why leander lost against cedar park this past week. everyone was looking at bastrop and not concentrating on the task at hand. let's be smart.

I disagree. Lewisville and the colony were 1-19 combined. Everyone else finished 6-4 or higher. Plano absolutely beat the girl out of Fossil Ridge by 40 and fossil ridge makes the playoffs by beating Ryan the 2nd place team.
Other than the Grapevine game Plano East held SL at their place to the lowest point total all year. East was a very distant 3rd in the district at 5-5. Records in predistrict don't mean anything. Its who you play. :)

I agree with what the SLC crowd is saying to us Wildcat faithful...........let's worry about the big dogs when they come to us!!!!!! Sometimes in the regular season it's ok to look past an opponent to next week because you're playing a pretty weak team, but DON'T LOOK 4 WEEKS AHEAD!!!!! Right now, everyone in the playoffs is 0-0, and all it takes is ONE AND YOU'RE DONE.

I hope Coach Brence and the Cats are ignoring all the hoopla of being 10-0 and just focusing on the real goal: STAY ALIVE FOR ANOTHER WEEK!!!! If Plano fans want to talk about playoff matchups, let's talk about DeSoto and what things to look for Friday night.............period!

I would imagine some great teams will get surprised, but I hope Plano isn't one of them.............it only gets tougher after round 1!
