Everyone is pretty familiar with Plano at this point, so I'll talk about Irv. Mac a little bit.
This is a heck of a way for MacArthur to open the season. It will quickly give them an indication of where they stand and what will need to be improved upon to eclipse last season's 9-2 record.
The Cardinals return 6 starters on offense which is a healthy number, but will be breaking in a new signal caller, Sr. Mike Brooks. He will be surrounded by plenty of talent in the spread offense including 2007 District Soph. MVP, RB James Sims, along with several talented WR's.
On defense, they return 7 starters including massive DT Albert Sparks and D1 prospect and 5ATXFB 2nd Team All-State LB Tariq Allen. This unit has a lot more experience from a season ago and now know what to expect playing the big boys of the region. Their two losses came against Euless Trinity (48-10) and Cedar Hill (61-24) in 2007.

Nice touch. Should be a good first game and I expect MacArthur to be play well. Being at Clark Plano should open the season well. Odd thing was that Meger & Lott did not play last week in the Mesquite scrimmage.

If IMAC stays competitive they put 7-5A on notice.
That said, it is the opening game and strange things can happen here that would not later down the road. This is a quality matchup of playoff probable teams and I see this as a good game for high school football fans looking for a good first week game. I think playing in Clark puts just one more nail in it for Plano, as if they needed one. Cheering for 7-5A IMAC in this one but it could be just a nice tuneup for Plano.

What no poll?
Sorry...the ones with polls were started before I merged threads. I'll start making all of these polls from Week 1 on.

I thought this game was under consideration for Televised coverage. Would like to see how ex-Trojan Ben Fuahala does at DE for MacAurthur

This game shouldn't be close considering even with the very good Tariq Allen, Mac gave up 464 and 522 yards respectively to the rushing offenses of Trinity and Cedar Hill. Superman should be able to start his 2008 campaign with a strong 200 yard outing, the only interesting question is will we be seeing any of Plano's version of the "Wildcat" formation before the starters sit. My prediction Plano 56, MAC 21.
