Had a great run. A silver medal is a heck of an accomplishment, don't get me wrong.
But it takes a special type of mentality to place second in a race and then immediately walk over to the TV camera and pronounce yourself "Number 1...that's what I'm talking about, baby."

5.1.3 BABY!!!:Censor:
I was thinking the same exact thing.
taking away dodgeball and not allowing kids to run around the track so they "won't hurt themselves" will catch up to us eventually. Before we know it....Olympics will be played on the Xbox. I've never seen USA so outdone in Track and Field...especially the sprints.

I don't know....we would have had a really good games in the 100 and 200 if not for one miracle of nature named Usain Bolt. The 4X100 would have contended if not for a brain fart. We did sweep the 400.
On the women's side, there has really been some disappointments though. Still, the main damage to the USA's luster was done by Mr. Bolt. What can you do when a sophisticated running robot from the future is sent back in time to change the Olympic Games.

The weird thing is....Bolt came out of NOWHERE....just jumped on the scene blasting World Records with ease.

I have never "seen" USA so outdone in track and field in my lifetime but apparently there was an 8 year span where we were back during the 1972 and 1976 Olympic games. Pat Forde wrote an article that pretty much summed up the sucking of the USA track team this year.
