Ever notice that a lot of track and field athletes were braces(dental)...well a lot of athletes for that matter.....Marion Jones, LeRoy Burrell.....I'm pretty sure there are more that I just can't think of right now. Listening to the radio on my way to work this morning, I heard something interesting. Obviously, track and field stars getting braces seem to be a big deal.....I'm not buying the fact that all people with spaces between their teeth are strong or can run fast, so, I did some more reading....check this out:
"Too much growth hormone leads to a syndrome called acromegaly, according to the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). In this condition, excess GH can cause enlargement of the feet, hands, lips, nose and jaw. It also can foster excess perspiration and fatigue, a widening of the spaces between the teeth, furrows in the forehead and weakness in the hands." http://www.stayinginshape.com/3osfcorp/libv/k46.shtml
"The jaw becomes larger, with spaces appearing between the teeth because of this, and the eyebrows become more prominent. The tongue enlarges and the skin becomes coarse and oily. " http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/front_page/3101343.stm
Am I reading too much into this? Another conspiracy theory?
