I always enjoy the bantering back and forth about who will beat who and how far they'll go, but the Texas playoffs have taught me a few things:

Last week has no bearing on this week. That's good and bad.

You need a little luck along the way to keep winning.

You can't have a bonehead coach.

Play to win the game, not to keep from losing it.

Any win you get is a great win.

There is a lot of depth in the playoffs and anybody you play can beat you.

All that matters is getting to play another week.

Every team that wins a few games is a pretty good team.

Enjoy the best part of the year, fans! You only get it once a year. Too bad I'm not there.

Its very tough for the team to lose next week in playoffs because they have to wait until next year, it said to suck for them.

Now that I fired the coach, Plano will probably lose and all the Judson fans will REJOICE! One of your boys was talking trash on a Judson thread.

Brence and his 100 wins as a head coach make him boneheaded. Hmm. That makes sense. And then the comment of play to win not to keep from losing. I don't remember one game a team cameback during our 10-0 season. In fact we blew all but 2 teams out. Our avg. score was 41 to 10. I don't call that playing to lose kind of like that. Not to punk on Tdodge but you don't need to run scores up on teams either. That just shows lack of character. Plano has a good coach and more importantly have heart which matters a lot more.

I remember catching much flack for what i said in this postand that is ok. Yesterday at the SLC game, these were not my thoughts only. When we went to the field before the game, several of the elders said some of the same things.
according to alot of people, going for 2 point conversion was useless at the time and a bonehead call.
Yesterday was a great game....it was like a championship boxing match. SLC hit us with the upper cut and then the overhand right. Then Pano hit back. Great jabs all day with the good hit a few times. there was no early tko as predicted. when you hit the champ with a great right cross, you should not go dance in the center of the ring the rest of the fight. No one understood the change in defense in the 4th quarter and no one understood the change in offense. When you are running and have the lead, the only reason to change and run trick plays is to play trying not to lose. Plano quit using the jab and started dancing around the ring.
I am not in any way taking anything away from SLC as they coached for all 4 quarters, Plano coached for 3. So the flack can come again and that is ok, This is not only MY opinion. Great year Plano!!!!!
