What happened?

Leander loosing to Cedar Park, were they looking past this game to the playoffs?

P'ville loosing to McNeil, the Mavricks have a good team so this is not such a surprise.

I am out of town and would love to hear some of the details.

I tried to explain this loss on the thread titled 15-5a playoff teams but the fact is it's one of those things that sometimes happen in a rivalry game.

i agree. rivalry games are intense. cedar park had absolutely nothing to lose, for the seniors, it was their last game and it was against leander of all schools. you could just see how bad they wanted to mess up leander's winning streak. they came full force at us and we just werent ready for that. i think it all boils down to underestimating the talent of some underdog team.

That loss stings, even for me. At the same time, that may be just what Leander needs to fire them up for the game against Bastrop.
Does anyone know where Leander and Bastrop will play?

Is the game for sure in Burger Stadium. I was really hoping for either RRISD stadium, Westlakes home stadium, or House Park.

Burger is not a great venue for any game let alone a playoff game. I have not been in Austin for several weeks, but usually late in the season games get played in muddy conditions and it really tears up the field. Hopefully the field is in good shape. Too bad the teams did not opt for Westlake or RRISD Stadium, which would have been much better venues.

oh, i KNOW! but im pretty sure it is at burger. it even says it on our site, so unless some miraculous thing happens to burger (like it blowing away?)...then im pretty sure we'll be there

Not a good way to start a playoff run!! I suspect both team were kind of hungover from their game the week before. I hope Leander gets on track I am looking forward to a COVE-Leander matchup in second round so this best in CENTEX can be settled for 2005. Good luck to both :D

Except for that knee twisting carpet at Westlake,My nephews knee was damaged thier in 2003.Maybe they have a new surface since then. But,i loved the stadium.

they might have replaced it, but it's the same old hard astroturf. i wouldn't ever play a game there or at leander if i didnt have to. might as well play on concrete
