That will make for some interesting posts. I think Spring Westfield is the best team in Texas....Too bad the matchups may not be so willing!

I agree - Anyone of SLC, Longview, Lufkin, Abilene and Katy has what it takes and this list does not incldue other real contenders; Cove, Smithson Valley, Schertz Clemens and others. There are only 3 real contenders in D1 - North Shore, Westfield and Euless T.

I view the playoff teams in tiers.

In D1:

North Shore, Trinity, and Westfield are Tier 1. Judson can be if they keep their act together. That remains to be seen.

Summit, H Lamar, Pearland, Pflugerville, and Westlake are Tier 2.

In D2:

Abilene, SLC, Longview, Lufkin, and Katy are Tier 1.

Midland, SGP, IMac, Plano, Carter, Garland, Cove, Leander, Hays, H Madison, Clemens, and SV are Tier 2.

They would be Tier 1 in D1, but I say Tier 2 in D2. It's all relative to the teams around you.

All the coaches voted to move them! ;)

OK, Denton Ryan lost and Grapevine won, but the scores were such that Keller Fossil Ridge got in and took the D1 spot.

L.V. Berkner High School of Richardson deserves to be mentioned as a "tiered" team for Division I. They've gone 10-0 and played a pretty difficult schedule. They can definitely beat Skyline and Mesquite/Rowlett, and could very well challenge Trinity in the state semis.

I just don't have faith in district 10. It's anything but perfect. I agree they beat Skyline, but I think the party ends in Round 2. It will be close, though.

Berkner? Come on. Dude really. Tough schedule is just a plain stupid statement to make about them.

@ Mesquite Horn..Beat em 24-17..Horn finished 4-6 no playoffs.
vs Duncanville..Beat em 34-16..Duncanville finished 6-4 no playoffs.
@ Lakeview..Beat em 21-3 (so has everyone else)..LV finished 3-7 no playoffs.
@ Jesuit*..beat em 43-22..4-6, no playoffs
vs Newman Smith*..beat em 43-23..3-7, no playoffs
vs Lake Highlands*..beat em 23-20..7-3, vs WT White in first round
@ Pearce*..beat em 36-22..6-4, no playoffs
vs RL Turner*..beat em 28-0..1-9, no playoffs
@ Richardson*..beat em 37-13..2-8, no playoffs
vs Creekview*..beat em 19-7..6-4, vs Carter first round.

Beat two teams that made the playoffs..both teams came from District.
They played 10 teams with a combined record of 42-58

Not that hard of a schedule, not to mention playing in one if not the easiest districts in the State of the Texas.

Thank you. That's why I don't have them on the list in spite of being 10-0.

Duncanville was probably the best non-playoff team in the state.

And the district isn't that easy...Pearce is also a good football team, despite not making the playoffs. 9-5A is a lot worse. The district is probably in the lower half, but it isn't at the bottom.

But I'd be willing to say that Berkner can get through the 11/12-5A winner. Neither team is that great.

Where does Churchill fit in the equation? They've been 4th in 26-5A 2 years in a row. They beat Judson and SV. Those are some good teams!

I saw the Fossil Ridge - Berkner scrimmage. At that time Ridge was as good or better than Berkner.

Berkner benefits from a weak schedule.

are you kidding?? way too early to be drinking, isn't it??? Longview, JT, Garland, Rowlette, Mesquite??? i veryyyyyy seriously doubt that last post, my friend...i know you're a true fan, but let's be a little realistic.....the last guy said "Mesquite, maybe"....i don't think you would beat Mesquite, either--10-0 or not(just my opinion, nothing more)....anyway, good luck to you guys............ok--the winner in D1 between 11-5A/12-5A....got ya, now...got off track for a minute...thought you were speaking of the winners out of 11-5A and 12-5A in BOTH divisions??---my bad........

the d-1 shakes out well for et, and everyone else in the north should have some fine match-ups. the berk-et game may come to pass, and won't draw much attention. the only games in any region involving good teams will be in 3 in the 1st and 2nd weeks. i'm putting coju in the semis after 3 straight byes. what a draw.

The only reason I say Mesquite maybe is because of how they've played in the 2nd half of the season.

Of course it's funny to know that Mesquite is the 3rd team and Longview beat them 48-0 at Hanby while JT beat them 42-6 at Hanby also.

Coju is going to be hard to beat in Week 14, too!
ET does have a favorable draw probably all the way to the title game.
The 3rd week in D1 R3 and D1 R4 will be a walkover.

With twice as many schools going DII it is no wonder that the majority of the better schools to to the DII bracket. However, it appears that more than 2/3 of the good schools are going DII, with 19 of the top 25 going DII which is a little over 3/4th of the best programs going DII.

I know last year the hardest road to the State Championship was traveled by SLC and it looks the same this year!

IMac, Allen, Abilene, Plano, Lufkin, Katy! All but Allen are top 25 teams!

Loaded is an understatement!! It is just ridiculously uneven this year!! By far the most uneven since this silly stuff started in 90. Look at 5a div2 region2 That my team is in. There is four 10-0 teams and two 9-1 teams.  Who ever wins the div2 championship earned it in a big way. I am looking at a team like Trinity in div1 and they almost have a cake walk to the championship game vs Westfield. The only 2 that make give them a game before the finals The Woodlands and Westlake. 1....2.....3 The UIL sucks!!
