I wouldn't mark your words because if I remember correctly you said Lufkin would not have an offense without Lane and that we would be average at best. It seems we proved you wrong on that because if we have played just "average" teams in our district and beat most of them handidly I would say that makes us above average. Arab i did reread and i do apologize because you did not talk smack and i went at you unfairly. Nothing wrong with talking smack though ( I do my fair share) but this has been going on since forever and i just got irritated when it was in a score thread. It is just never ends no matter what thread it is!! I say we save all of the smack talk for the week that Lufkin and Longview actually meet what do you think?? Please tell rclisle if you agree!! LOL I was hoping Longview and SLC would go div2 because if i want Lufkin to be the best i wanted them to beat the best. If Longview did go div1 i would have cheered for them to win it along with Lufkin so ET could have major bragging rights. Now 8 of the top 10 teams are in div2 and there is no question which is the tougher road. You are correct BA - and the props are appreciated. Unlike Rclisle, you seem to grasp Lufkin is a decent team this year. All Rclisle does with his childish talking is make his own team look bad. Obviously the Lobos were not much last year -- any decent team can stop such a one-dimensional squad like LP was last year according to Czar Rclisle.

And Lufkin is clearly over-rated this year, or is it that the team is one-dimensonal again? The mediocre Jeremy Claybon will probably pick up hardware as the district mvp in a few days. Small-minded children like Rclisle only know how to make themselves appear dominant in their own warped worlds by trashing others. Sad.

I think it is odd that Lufkin has better statictical numbers on offense and defense this year than when Lane played last year. Lufkin has not struggled with so-called mediocre teams like Longview has this year.
Lufkin and Longview have played games this year without key players on offense or defense that were injured. Lufkin had to deal with Hurricane Rita and 4 games in 16 days and limited practice schedules, yet continued to handily win ballgames.

I couldn't agree with you more. I was VERY impressed with the way that Lufkin handled the changed up schedule and seemed to be playing 2 games a week. That adversity will matter in a deep run. Truth be told, I don't trust clisle either. Just two days ago, he was expecting us to lose and now he's sitting on here saying how amazing we are. Bah!

This may be off topic, but you guys have got to respect the statement that King made last night saying "Hey...we do have a passing game to defend." That playaction KILLLED JT. And when they would bite on the pass, VMac was picking up 9 yards.

Carlin went over 1,000 yards passing last night with 5-7 for 137 yards and 2TDs give him 12 TDs and 2 INTs for the season. Throw two more rushing TDs on top of that, and I'd say that the haters of Carlin Freeman should shut it.

I think Carlin is very underrated as a quarterback. He does not have the talent most big names have, but he does the best with the talent he has and has around him. He is evidently also a great leader for the Lobos.

I think Freeman is a very good HS QB..........scrappy, pretty good speed, and seems to be a good leader. I believe he'll do fine as long as the running game is working and the defense has to respect play action. The difference between LV and SLC/Lufkin is that the latter two can throw the ball when the defense knows they have to throw. As long as LV is ahead and controlling the game with the run they are in good shape, but if they fall behind late and have to throw, it spells trouble (witness the LP game last year).

lol fav. if have not seen me give LP big props you haven't read one word i have posted. you have arguably the best d in the state and maybe the best receiving corp. i realize lufkin is an awesome team and have said that all along. the only criticism i have had is your weak schedule, and i realize lview's hasn't turned out to be as tough as we thought it might be, and your running game. i have only said that not having a replacement for lane in the backfield would hurt lp and i bet it does in the playoffs. 3rd and short won't be as easy to come by for you guys. am i wrong for saying those things?

#3 had 185 yards and he will have that many again this year. heck our qb had over 100 yds rushing against y'all. the kicker this year will be a healthy Ivory....write this down he will have a huge game assuming he is healthy. he may not have a ton of yards but he will get his in the trenches and show you all what kind of a player he is. please keep calling him out....it only adds fuel to the fire.

Longview will have to wait for their turn. I don't think they are even on Lufkin's schedule yet. Killeen Harker Heights is the only team scheduled for Lufkin so far. So we will prepare for them thank you.

I think Freeman is a very good HS QB..........scrappy, pretty good speed, and seems to be a good leader. I believe he'll do fine as long as the running game is working and the defense has to respect play action. The difference between LV and SLC/Lufkin is that the latter two can throw the ball when the defense knows they have to throw. As long as LV is ahead and controlling the game with the run they are in good shape, but if they fall behind late and have to throw, it spells trouble (witness the LP game last year).


longview has been making a conscious effort to improve the pass game all year and it has showed. Freeman's pass rating is higher and he is already over 1000 yds passing for the season. we are probably no where near LP and SLC but we are no longer incapable of getting the pass when we need it.

3 Defensive TDs in a game does help...

But that aside, I'd say you guys always have a better than average offense. Compared to the past few years, though, its not as powerful. But, it is very deceptive. These past 3 years, 90 % of the time, you knew that Lane was going to get the ball in some capacity (reception out of the backfield, direct snap, running the ball, etc.) Now you have Dez and EJ that are both superior athletes. You aren't so one dimensional.

I believe that to be the key to Lufin's offense this year. We aren't one dimensional. If you try to stop the run, we will throw the ball etc.

Not only is our offense multidimensional, we have one of the best kickers, if not the best, in state. Not many h.s. kickers have two 40+ yard field goals in one game!

I am not saying we can't be stopped, but it hasn't happened yet. Our coaches are very good at modifying what we are doing to overcome the defenses efforts at stopping us.

Based on the ramifications of this game and all the trashtalk, bad blood, things to prove, and actual blood being drawn on the field, I feel it is in the best interest of UIL and all involved to move this matchup to the final game of the season. I am not going to talk about this much, because you don't want to really hear what I truthfully have to say. I would get banned. I think it is odd that Lufkin has better statictical numbers on offense and defense this year than when Lane played last year. Lufkin has not struggled with so-called mediocre teams like Longview has this year.
Lufkin and Longview have played games this year without key players on offense or defense that were injured. Lufkin had to deal with Hurricane Rita and 4 games in 16 days and limited practice schedules, yet continued to handily win ballgames.

Rclisle41 you alway over step your mouth and you go out of your way to degrade Lufkin's success at every opportunity. The fact that you can't see yourself the way others do is amazing and yes, you do spew crap out of both sides of your mouth. You mostly diss Lufkin, but every now and then you will throw a positive bone in to make it look like your a good guy. It is all a game to you. I wouldn't trust you even if I were a Lobo fan.

With that said, I don't care how much you talk down to Lufkin and your bold grandios statements of the total destruction of Lufkin the next time we play.

It all sounds like desperation to me. This was suppose to be Longview's year and now things don't seem quite as easy as they were earlier in the year for you. Guess what?, Lufkin's young and Lane-less team got alot better as the year went on and the truth is, you Lobo guys have got to be thinking about that. We are not a pushover, we are a very good football team now. PackAttack I hope you read this post carefully. I have never said LP's offense was average, i said your run game was average. LP has a great pass game and a QB who can scramble and throw well. I simply have said that Lane was such a big part of your offense that he could not be replaced. Obviously the coaches have done a good job with all the talent they have and LPs offense is still very good. Sometimes I do get excited and make statements that can be offensive to LP and others and for that I am sorry and will work on it. Like the statement of mine Pack0808 posted on LPs site. I embarrassed myself and I take that back. I hope you believe me when I say I am on here to have fun and want to get along with everyone. It is difficult to do under the current streak especially with certain LP fans throwing it in your face even when it isnt part of the discussion at hand. Yep the last time i checked turnovers are a GIGANTIC part of the game and when 2 even teams go at it the turnovers usually decide who wins. Not ground breaking stuff. The fact remains Lufkin has won the vast majority of these 9 games by double digits!! :eek: Only one came down to a last second field goal when Lufkin beat Longview for the 3rd time in the same season in 2002.


Either way i respect you for apologizing and admitting your wrong!! and you are right about me getting out of hand at times and apologizing for it. It is just football game when you think about it nothing more!!, and it is kind of silly that we get this worked up over it. You are wrong. We played Longview in the 3rd round at SFA. The fourth game was against Ceder Park in Waco at Waco ISD's Stadium and the 5th game was the loss to SLC in Waco at Baylor's Stadium. So if we meet them again it will be the same as last year. Third round. But one game at a time.

My plan was to stay out of this fray . . . then I decided to add a tid-bit of civility. By the way, don't we both have a game to play this weekend other than each other? Since ultimately none of us will (literally) get to play in this game even if it does happen, maybe we should refocus our attention towards wishing each other good luck over the coming weeks. If we're fortunate, maybe our dream matchup will become a reality. Me personally, I hope it happens (that we get to play); otherwise, ending the streak [and the talk about it] will not be a possibility. . . Although I am tired of hearing about the streak, I honestly can't say I blame them (LP fans) . . . I remember when we had the 21-game streak against Marshall - man was it fun while it lasted. But when the streak ended (as we all knew it eventually would) it hurt more than the series of victories felt good. Why(?), because the realization hit all at once - past victories meant nothing - not at that present moment. . . No matter how much value we had put in the past victories - the air had just been abruptly let out of our balloon. Watching Marshall celebrate really brought me down to earth . . . It taught me to focus on the present because I know that Marshall team did. . . That team cared nothing about our twenty-one game winning streak and it showed on the field. . . Our pleasure quickly turned to pain . . . The sad part for me is that we do not get to play each other on a regular basis (same district) other than a playoff possibility. very good point. I really see nothing statnding in the way of us meeting. I think we will handle South Garland easily. Then it is either Lake Highlands, and we have already beat them handily, or a 3-6 team in Dallas Adams.

wide I you plan on attending the game. I know you are just taking a stab at Lview fans about the fumbles but you will know Ivory is no joke.
