The Norman Transcript

Oklahoma offensive lineman J.D. Quinn was arrested Tuesday and has been charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol in Cleveland County District Court.

According to a police affidavit filed with the charge, Quinn, 19, was stopped at 803 Beaumont Square for speeding and failure to use a turn signal.

The affidavit states Quinn admitted to consuming beer and consented to and failed a breathalizer test.

A Dec. 13 court date is scheduled.

Court records indicate it was Quinn’s second alcohol related offense since coming to OU. On April 30, 2004, he was arrested for actual physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of a fictitious identification card.

He pleaded guilty to the actual physical control of a vehicle charge. The fake identification charge was dismissed with costs.

Quinn, a redshirt freshman from Garland, Texas, has started OU’s last three games at right guard.

Does he lose the scholarship over this? He is a good player, and could do some good things...

According to the Dalas Morning news article Stoops is not commenting. I hope this is his wake up call and they let him keep playing and going to school. He can do good things on and off the fileld. I am praying for him and his family. Does Stoops ususally give more than one chance?

Has to.....remember when Rhett Bomar was arrested for "minor in possession of alcohol", earlier this season? (He's only 20yrs old.) Actually it was the week they played Tulsa!

Anyhow, Quinn had better get his crap together! Stoops can always get a junior college kid to replace him. And remember he threw Dvoracek off last year....however, that was due to DD beating the living crud out of a hs friend, and DD had done several things prior to.

If that's true.. Then they need to suspend him from the team and get treatment for him.

Wow, this isn't suprising. We went to different high schools but used to hang around in the same circles and that kid can drink. Too bad he can't drive and hopefully he's got money for these tickets, I think he lost a ******** of $$$ on the OU game.

According to the Noman News today he is playing against A&M

There is no change to the status of redshirt freshman guard J.D. Quinn. He was arrested last week due to an alcohol-related incident.

Stoops said the matter will be handled internally.

“We’ll handle it like we do,” he said.

Offensive line coach Kevin Wilson said Quinn has been practicing with the first team and plans on him playing Saturday.

“As of this date, I expect him to play,” Wilson said.

Running back Jacob Gutierrez could miss the Texas A&M game, though. He suffered an elbow injury against Nebraska. His status is still up in the air.

“He’s close to being ready to play,” Stoops said.

That is messed up that he can still play. The average person would have there *** in jail right now.
