Good thing we have one of the best Defenses in the state. I'm sure this guy is good, but I'm also sure The Woodlands isn't worried about one guy beating them.

I may be, but how many times has a team from our district gone into the playoffs and in the past meet one of ya'll usually in the 2nd round and win? It seems like almost everytime with exception of a few years ago when AMC beat TWH. In the past 5 years KF has gone to the semis twice and 3rd round almost every year, Twh has gone at elast 3 rounds semis twice and went to state, and LP has gone to the semis almost every year and won state once..... I dont think any 13-5a teams have been to big of a problem for KF,TWH, or LP.

Much more playoff experience and success, more all around talent and depth, and in the Woodlands case has already faced 3rd and 4th round competition in major playoff a enviroment 4 times this season.

I agree about Oak Ridge being one of the weakest 5a teams i have seen in a long time. They are horrid!! But The Woodlands is battle tested playing top 5 type teams in Lufkin, Katy, and NS. They just went to the state championship a few years back and they know how to win. Consolidated is usually a very tough team to beat and they seem to always make it 2 to 3 rounds deep in the playoffs but i like The Woodlands in a close game in this one. They have a very good defense and the offense has only been improving and they are just starting to click. I say TWS 20 AMC 13 Consolidated could definitely win though.

LOL on that statement. Dez had 3 catches for 80 yards for a 27 yard average vs The Woodlands!! Lufkin only passed 12 times in that whole game!! What do you expect?? I think that is pretty good numbers considering Lufkin hardly threw the ball.

The only difference is Lufkin has a 4 wr set and they use all of their very talented receivers. I bet he is consolidated's only major weopon at wr in the offense they use?? All 5 Lufkin wr's have a chance to play college ball and 4 of them have a good shot at div1a. Shankle has already signed with A&M, Dez will be a top recruit next year, Thomas is already getting looks as a junior, Gordon is getting looks because he is 6'3 and athletic, and Raines could get some looks at the lower levels. He probably will play baseball though. Lufkin spreads the ball around to all 5 of them so there is not that many ball's to go around. Of course Dez is the best of the 5 and one of the top wr's in the state in my opinion. I personally have not seen one better in hs and i am not saying that as a homer.

Matching up well with one team does not mean you will match up the same way with another. Not saying Woodlands can't win but If you are going into this thinking you will just roll over AMC that is a BIG mistake. We will see come Saturday should be interesting.

The Woodlands defense matched up with two of the best teams in the state and maybe the counrty in North Shore and Lufkin, Offense just killed us in both of those. I think we will be alright defensively it just depends if our offense can get rolling. AMC better be ready to stop our RB's who are very good and very fast.

This should be a good game. TWHS has come around and should be ready for a push. I know Consol is solid this year - a great test for both teams.

Hopefully the Woodz has their qb game plan down - sure seems like No. 18 is the way to go. The combo. of Smalls and Montague is very solid at rb and Drabek and No. 5 are very good receivers. The Highlander D is good enough to win many p.o. games.

All 3 of THW losses came to Top 10 teams (Katy, North Shore and Lufkin). They are a solid team and their offense is much improved from the start of the season. I like THW by 10.

No way coves runningback is as fast as #1 you'll see. About the whole reciever thing, we've seen Dev, thats all that has to be said about that.

I see this being a very hard fought physical game..but in the end The Woodlands wins something like 21-10
I have not seen TW play this year..just looking at stats and articles
their defense looks impressive and offense is very solid.
I have followed Consol and their season has been a yo-yo effect...early on the offense was good but their defense could do nothing..midseason the offense gelled and the defense was improved...late season, offense can do nothing and defense has been impressive.
Over the last 4 games the Consol offense has only averaged 14 ppg...fortunatly their defense only let up an avg of 13 ppg over that same 4 game span Consol came out of it with a 3-1 record.
the loss of their QB Jones hurt, the other 2 QB are below average. Lewis is a great receiver but if you have nobody to get him the ball, he is a lost cause. Consol also loss their RB Palmer in the Bryan game for the reaminder of the season...he was out 3 games for grades in the midle of the season and Consol was able to win some games without him..but the competition is much stiffer now and his loss will be felt.
QB Jones has been injured and hopefully he will be back on Friday..he is their best option at QB...if Consol does not get a great performance at the QB posistion, which Im not so sure the 2 backups are capable of, it will be a tough grind it out game but TW will be too much for a tired Consol defense to handle in the 4th quarter

I have seen the Woodlands/McCullough play football for over 20 years now. They have always been well coached and played good clean hard nose football. I do not know who will win this game as I am sure both teams are deserving to be there. I will say that I do not believe this is a very strong Woodlands team. They have had a lot better many times before. It could just be a product of a district that was not real good top to bottom. I wish both teams the best of luck and no matter who talks the most trash on here, the better team usually wins.

I saw both teams play way back in August. However, based on the talent I saw then and what each has done since then...I'm going with The Woodlands. I don't think Consolidated can move consistently on the Highlander defense, and The Woodlands is improving on offense at the right time. A&M Consolidated definitely has the capability of winning this game, but I like The Woodlands' team more. Physically, The Woodlands are very gifted and their huge roster gives them depth and that's a real luxury this time of year.

Although I am pulling for AMC because you are from 13-5A, if I were you guys I would worry about your running game. Detron Lewis is good but your QB situation is not. Get that straight along with the run and I believe you can win otherwise your defense will be on the field alot and thats never good. Got to be able to run, controll the clock to set up your D. Just my opinion. As far as not covering your wide out that won't matter much if your QB is throwing 3 or 4 int's . I predicted AMC to win but it won't be easy.

I saw both teams play way back in August. However, based on the talent I saw then and what each has done since then...I'm going with The Woodlands. I don't think Consolidated can move consistently on the Highlander defense, and The Woodlands is improving on offense at the right time. A&M Consolidated definitely has the capability of winning this game, but I like The Woodlands' team more. Physically, The Woodlands are very gifted and their huge roster gives them depth and that's a real luxury this time of year.

I Think Daniel is injured - Daniel is a great back but the coaches put to much load on him and we become one dimensional - when Dainel is in the game everyone knows who's going to get to carry the mail. Getting that TD pass to the RB called back after he'd beat the linebacker was huge as well. Holding? or ineligible man downfield, something... big play.

The young man y'all picked up from NO, LA was really quick. Unfortunately for him, every time they pitched it to him for that outside run, our fastest D. End was up to the task. The D. End, CJ Parrish, isn't the biggest guy out there, but man does he have closing speed.

Every player on the Consolidated team thinks Coves runningback was way better than Montague and #22 after playing both. We pounded those backs and Consol won because they were outright more physical!

We went to our old bread and butter two back offense. Combine that with some double wingback misdirection and the Woodlands D didn't have a clue as to which back had the ball until they were already through the line. At least that's the way I saw it.

Our QB was not asked to win the game. He was simply asked to play within himself and not lose the game. In the last two games, Myatt has committed no turnovers. He made good decisions and he has kept his cool. Gotta give the senior some credit for doing what he does best and not trying to do it all himself.

Consol defense and running attack was very impressive last night...Orozco kid had a great night...still need to find somebody to throw #9 Lewis the ball,he could of scored about 6 touchdows if every ball thrown his way was not 6 feet over his head. the kicker/punter Symanski(sp?) still impresses me every time I watch him and is a weapon.

It is really funny that Cove would ever talk crap to Lufkin if they had any clue at all about hs football. LMAO Just funny!! Please make it past the 2nd round for once. LOL Especially the 3rd round!! Play Lufkin head to head and we will see what you have to say. ;) Any team can be beat at anytime but comparing Lufkin with 145a a district they have never lost in and have won by an average of 30 points is a joke. A team that is 61-7 in the last 5 years with a state championship and 2 state semis appearances in that same time span. Their worst loss was 9 points. Uh, unless he lost the 3 smallest toes on his left foot, he's out. I watched the game film a while ago. Your coaches didn't protest, the official was less than 10 yards behind. I'm guessing the guys nearest the play got it right. Again, your coaches didn't seem to disagree with the call.
