Went and watched the Chaminade (5-2) team play tonight against American Heritage (7-0). Both teams are Private schools in the Broward County area of South Florida. Both are both highly overall ranked in Florida also and predicted to make long runs in the playoffs.
Chaminade =14
Heritage =13
Heritage went for a 2 pts conversion to win the game and got stuffed by Chaminade with 1 minute left in the game.
It was a great game. Both teams are equal overall in their ability. They will also probably rematch in like week 3 of the playoffs.
Just thought some of yall would like to hear how they did against another top notch Florida team. Both teams have some great looking athletes.
I almost cant believe the Tyler Lee beat them back in week one.

I hear yeah there! To me it says something about the depth of Texas football! But Florida has some very competition, as well.
I tell you something else, I didn't know Florida had only 400, or so, teams! I checked today, and I was stunned! Same goes for California...heck they don't even have state championships!

Oh Ya,, California has "sectional champs". Its like basically winning the city title of Houston , Dallas, West Texas , San Antonio or East Texas and claimig you're the #1 team in Texas without anything that sniffs of a real State playoff.
Florida has State playoffs. But its weird how the classify schools. America Heritage is a 2A but they have almost 2,500 kids in the high school.
PS. I sat next to a Hollywood-Chaminade players Grandfather tonight. He went to Tyler and watched the Chaminade vs Tyler Lee game. He was impressed by Tyler Lee and said how great they were. " I didnt have the heart to tell him they were having a very poor Texas season."

You're a good man! Old guy might of had a heart-attack right there, on the spot! He doesn't need to know what won't effect him!
But damn....they lost to Tyler Lee and they're a Florida top power! Wow!!! Frog...you gotta get back to Texas, brother!! ;)

Tell me about it man !!! I've lived here in Broward County for 3 football seasons man. I've been to about 15 high school games. Tonight was the first high school game (in the Miami area) that actually had a Texas Friday night feel to it.
Small stadium (seats about 4,500) but it was an overflow crowd and had a very electic atmosphere in the air. I actually had alot of fun at this game.
America Heritage coach went for 2 pts with 1 minute left to try for a 15-14 win. The fullback got stuffed over the RG for no gain. The crowd goes crazy!!
I'll tell you this though. That fullback was freaking Alstott junior man (6-1/235) kid.
both teams are loaded with alot of future D-1A college kids. Plus, both teams are very well coached. Both are top #6 Florida teams.

I'm still shaking my head at the fact that Lee beat them! And Lee is a 4-6, unranked Texas team!
But my hats go off to that kind of atmosphere and game!!! I love that!! I wen to the Humble/Westfield game, tonight.....mannn, Humble was into it, big time! Half the fans from Westfield showed up! Their starting TB didn't even play, because they wanted to rest him for the playoffs! A jr rb came in and looked very impressive!
Westfield has speed at all of the skill postions....ALL OF THEM!!
The electric atmosphere wasn't there, tonight!

Westfield would pretty much have their way with either Chaminade or Heritage in my opinion. Both these Florida teams (Chaminade & Heritage) are bigtime "PRIVATE SCHOOLS" but the top Texas teams would probably beat them by about (20-25) pts on an average Friday night.
I think what seperates Texas when its all said and done. Its not the team speed or athletes. Its the line play with both the ( O-line and D-line). I think the Texas top teams have superior "LINE PLAY".
PS. That Westfield "RB" - T. Sweeny can flat fly.

Yes..he can!
This year I've, personally, seen...
#1 Spring Westfield
#2 SLC (I still think of them as #1, until someone beats them!)
#3 North Shore
#4 Longview
#5 Katy
#14 Houston Lamar
#19 Pearland
#35 The Woodlands
and a few others, that are lowly ranked!
I'm going to post a thread on who I think will win what rounds/titles!

I havent seen Westfield this season yet. I have seen a few Westfield games over the last few seasons though. I did see the State title game (REL vs Westfield) last season here in Miami on tv. I was impressed with Westfield and knew looking at all the underclass players that they would probably be making alot of noise this season.
Westfield is in the same breath with all the Texas powers and it looks like they're here to stay for seasons to come with annual deep runs into the playoffs.
