That would be a huge mistake because Speciale is a converted fullback at QB and he can run the ball just as well. While I originally doubted the passing game of the Oilers, they started working it hard in the last half of the season and hurt all those who focused solely on Whitaker. North Shore did not shutdown Whitaker last year as a Sophmore but the Buckner to Boone combo were huge threat last year that took pressure off him to do everything.

You know as well as I do that a running back will get stronger and better each year after his first season unless injured or he has no blocking. So yes, Whitaker is a formidable foe. The other improvement is that Pearland has a better defense this year than last year which will make this a great game against North Shore. :D

Better check again. Only two teams in III that are top 5 in both offense and defense. We can defend both pass and run. So don't get ahead of yourself. You guys have had leaderboard backs for the last 5 yrs or so and still haven't beaten us. So we will see next fri.

Also nobody said Northshore's defense was great last year, It was great in 2003 when Northshore beat you guys 42-7 and went on to win state.

therefore we cant look at schedules, but based on how they've played....something i just saw northshore averages about 3.5 fumbles a game and loses almost 2 every game...they cant come in the playoffs thinkin they will win turnin the ball over

Maybe I'm stupid but last time I checked it takes a pretty good defense to shut anyone out. I mean no one just goes out there and says ok we'll let you hold us to no points. Though your right we don't have great defense I mean our starters did give up a touchdown to Woodlands and then ddin't give up another one the rest of the season.

Sir I promise you we haven't forgotten the performance Mr.Whitaker put on against lasy year. There's no denying he is a good back and good backs tend to have good games no matter how good a defense is or isn't.

As has already been said seems to m every year Peraland plays a schedual that isn't any tougher than North shore's. Yet every year they want to make a big deal out of how weak a schedual we play. Is it our fault we can only schedual hose that are willing to play us? Believe me I don't think our AD or Coach Aymond are ducking anyone.


I'm not goingto go out and say we are going to blow you guys out. Honestly I'd liek to see a good old fashioned slobber knocker that has everyon on the edge of their seat.

Amen brother. I must say that our defense is much improved from last year. But you gotta remember that Jamaal Charles put over 400 against Westfield last year and they went all the way to state. So stats aren't the be-all end-all. Games evolve in different ways. And So far all I can say is we are 3-0 against Pearland and they had a great back before Whittaker. This is here and now, so we'll see on Friday who comes out on top?

Northshore played four teams that are going to the playoffs.... Woodlands, Hastings, Deer Park, La Porte. Not that it really matters but get your facts straight. I think you clutching at straws of reasons why Pearland can beat Northshore. I was doing the same thing in 2001 before Northshore played Vince Young and Madison. Final score Madison 61, Northshore 58. I know it would be the biggest win in Pearland's history to beat the mustangs. So in a way it's a compliment that you are talking trash. Like i have said over and over again whitaker didnt do anything special against NS last year. Was everyone at a different game last year or something. Pearlands success last year was in the air at the begining whitaker was getting stuffed. And ns doesnt have to stack their line. Even if they did it wouldnt matter ns defensive backfield is one of the best in the state lead by chykie brown. Dont think that yall have anything ns hasnt seen. The woodlands was a much better passing team than pearland will ever be and they held them, so to say that ns will get burned is an rediculous statement. Its so funny how last year there were none of yall pearland guys in here now your comming into a message board trying to talk football with people that know what they are talking about.

Pearland and Shore are both good programs... thats the truth, i believe that both programs have respect for each other... with good reason....pearland vs North shore is always a great game.. no matter what the score.... i look for another good game... and i dont doubt that it will happen again friday night.... dont confuse pre and post game trash talk with not having respect for each others programs.....

You know what was funny was how many players we knocked out of the game. Im not saying it was funny that they got hurt im saying it was funny how banged up yall got just to hang in there with us. If fozzy or whatever you call him runs all day he will get banged up. every team that just runs and runs gets beat up we just have hard hitters. And like i said before even if yall do for some reason run all over us do you not remember that we too have an offense and that yall have to stop us also. Yalls D isnt as good as ours so what r u gonna do about that. We have the #2 offense and #1 defense in the state as far as numbers go. And sims and gainous are both better than fozzy and together in the backfield they will wear you down.

Pearland 1 you are hilarious. You can ask anyone on here just how good NS defense really is and maybe our schedule isnt that hard but its not our fault and besides this is all of our second and third string defensive players puting up these numbers anyways so its not like we even have our best out there.
