Impressive Facts. But what gets me is: Humble coach says they are big, there not big at all. Yes they are very fast. Mainly they are coached well and play hard. (and did i say there fast)

They are definitely one of the more well put together teams this year. Good luck to them tonight. I'll be there.

Actually, it doesn't really matter to me. Both teams have had it out for us for a while now. Westfield got theirs in last year. It just goes with success as you guys will find out one day. But if I had to choose one or the other, it probably would be Westfield, since my sister's kids went there.

I don't know. Scooter gets around. He'll hit the road for a game. Besides, he might get sentimental and want to see Colbert's last game! :D

Confidence does effect the playoffs! And a loss would most definitely have some sort of an effect on the confidence of the players. Probably not much...but it will have some!

I'm only saying both teams make the playoffs regardless of the outcome. The outcome on the otherhand will be in Westfields favor, I beleive.

I was wondering. Was that Westfields 1st string defense playing last night? I wasn't real impressed with their defense. Why easn't their band there and why was their stands half empty?

I don't think much of their starting group was playing. Sweeney didn't touch the field until late in the game....and even then he wasn't really needed!

I tell you what though, Westfield is totally loaded with speed. Rb's, wr's, lb's, db's....whoa, they are speedy and like to hit! And Pierce can throw a 40 yd flat-out, that has a buzz on it!

If North Shore gets past Pearland, next week, look for the Westfield vs North Shore game to be a contender for Game of the Year! Both squads have forced over 350 pts, while holding their opponents to under 50 pts. LOTS OF ATHLETIC TALENT will be on display!!!

AND I WILL SAY THIS.......THAT HUMBLE QB (Jerrod Johnson) IS HUGE, I MEAN HE'S AT LEAST 6'4 OR 6'5 225 LBS! HE HAS VERY GOOD SPEED AND WARMS UP THROWING 50 YD FLAT HUMMERS! DURING THE GAME HE WAS EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE!!!!!

I have seen Westfield play in State Championship game and they were real good but not comparing to us last year. Westfield has a big shot for this playoff again and also They have many huge players.

Sorry you weren't more impressed by a young D that has yet to allow more than 14.
The band was at BOA in San Antonio and was headed back for the game when their bus broke down. Too bad everyone didn't get to see the #1 band in Texas.
Who knows why the stands are half empty, partly because the band requires lots of support from parents with their 18 wheelers, equipment, logistic support, etc.

Sorry you didn't get your moneys worth!

Johnson is 6'6" and has been since he was a sophomore. He's been the captain of the All-American All-Uniform team since he was a freshman.

He's just now starting to show some promise as a project QB in college. Last year and the year before, he only played QB due to the starter, Jamal Pettiford, being injured and I didn't think there was any chance of him playing QB at the next level. Apparently he's improved quite a bit.

Johnson is a freak of nature. I mean that in a good way. He looks a legit 6'6, 225-230 pounds.

If that wasn't Westfield's starting unit on defense, then that explains a lot but I did recognize some of the names they called. Orlando Toldson (DL) played, I saw Jamail Randle (LB) and Luther Eta (DB) as well. Given the fact Westfield's only played eight games this year, you'd think the starters would play.l

Humble nearly outgained Westfield in total yardage and had one more first down I believe. Humble killed their own drives with penalties most of the time. Eric Tunley ran well for the Wildcats. He was getting at least 5 yards just about every time he ran the ball on those stretch plays. Junior WR Robert Perry (#80) made some incredible catches. I thought Johnson (QB) played a very good game for the most part.

I'm not sure if Westfield had all of their starters, but they did have some key guys playing on defense. Sweeney did not play. He may not play next week either. Can't go into details, but it's not injury related.

Westfield has very good receivers, and they can all score from anywhere on the field. They have more weapons than you can account for on offense. It's going to take an amazing effort on defense to slow these guys down. Keenyn Crier does a good job kicking for Westfield, especially on punts.

Overall, I walked out convinced Westfield was a team that could contend despite being underwhelmed by the defense. Humble runs a unique scheme on offense that stretches a defense in every way.

Westfield is not that big, actually. (If you want size go see the, 6 or 7, 300 pounders North Shore has! And I think 2 are over 6'4, and the rest are at, or over, 6'1!)

Westfield has plenty of amazing speed to counter that. But, don't get me wrong, they're not small!

There's no doubt about it....if I were UT I'd take this Johnson kid and redshirt him, like they did Vince! Work on his mechanics and his potential to breakdown schemes and coverages. The potential of this kid is enormous!

He's a beast.....or at least he has beast potential!

Humble killed themselves, but for the most part they only survived as long as they did because of Johnson. He scrambled around and made big throws when they needed them. Westfield keyed on him, and that was about it! Walking out I was drooling thinking about Westfield vs North Shore, in two weeks! We'll see if it can happen.....cause if so, I'm there dawg!!!!!!!!!

Westfield gotta go through Lamar, which I doubt they'll have that much of a problem accomplishing.

North Shore has to go through Pearland....which will most likely be the Bi-District Game of the Week, in the Houston area! And I look forward to that!

I echo that sentiment. Johnson is going to be force to be reckoned with. Mack Brown should be all over him,. He would be a perfect fit to replace Vince. Give him a couple more players and Westfield might have been in trouble. Westfield showed some impressive individual and team speed. Stewart was 5-8 yds downfield before even being touched on just about every run. their o-line really impressed me. Congrats to WF. Hopefully THE GAME OF THE YEAR will happen in 2 weeks. Good luck to everyone in the playoffs.

Yeahhhh. But that's only verbal. Anything can change between now and signing day. A&M isn't looking too good right now, and it aint McNeal's fault. Same as OK state, Reid made a bad decision there. But Mack Brown never even gave him so much as a phone call.
