DR Raider

The Dallas Morning News has published a different tiebreaker procedure for 5-5A than what we previously explained. It appears that the DMN thinks positive and negative points are used. We expect to have a resolution of these differences shortly.

Here is the Star Telegram explanation.
District 5-5A Carroll (9-0, 6-0)
Status: They're in. The Dragons now must wait to see the bracket in which they will play.
Denton Ryan (7-2, 5-1)
Status: They're in. The Raiders could still finish in a tie for second, but have enough points in the tiebreaker formula.
Fossil Ridge (5-4, 4-2)
Status: Very close. Fossil Ridge is in with a victory over Denton Ryan. The Panthers would also make it with a loss and a Colleyville Heritage win over Grapevine with a margin of victory between five and 13 points.
Grapevine (5-4, 4-2)
Status: Very close. The best bet for the Mustangs is a win over Colleyville Heritage, plus a Denton Ryan win over Fossil Ridge. If the Mustangs lose, however, they will need to keep it close. A loss by four points or less combined with a Fossil Ridge loss will put Grapevine in the playoffs.
Colleyville Heritage (6-3, 3-3)
Status: Still alive. The Panthers must win big over Grapevine, then hope for a Denton Ryan win, which would create a three-way tie for third place. A victory by 14 points or more combined with a Fossil Ridge loss will earn Colleyville Heritage a playoff berth.
