Dang, feel like I'm in a grocery store with all of these demands flying around...
Roosevelt is kind of a weird team to ask about. They finished middle of the table in 265 last year as you know. They have some good returning players from their 6-4 team last year. Only finished a game outta third place. I think they have a chance to earn a playoff spot this year. A defensive back, James Moore, is their best returning player. Devon Brown will be a three-year letter at tailback after this season. I know Ivan Broussard is another experienced player they have back in the secondary. I also know Joseph Anderson and Dwayne Daniels return on the D line. Both players have been on varsity since their sophomore year.
Roosevelt always seems good for a few talented skill guys and usually play good defense. I would expect them to be competitive again and have a similar year to last year. They should effect the playoff race for sure, and have a chance to grab the third spot if they can outmuscle Churchill and Madison.
Ya happy now...for at least a little info?! :o

losing Marcus Still was something that'll show... not really sure what kind of depth they had behind him and the other kid that was pretty good at LB. we'll just have to wait and see.

But basically they will have zero chance at beating JROC or SV? Thats what I think. They may be battling with Churchill and Reagan for 3rd though.

Whats up everyone, hope all is good. I'm a former Roosevelt Starter from last years team and some of you might remember me as Veltboy or something like that but its been a while since I've been around here but I always check up on comments and topics.
Anyways, I can give some real good insight on this years Rider team. I'm not really sure how good this years team will do agains't Judson or Smithson Valley, but, they got a real good chance to be something special in my mind. There is alot of talent coming back on this team from last years team and most are young so they have time to get better. The thing with our team from last year and our slump of losing 3 games in a row was not only because of injuries and our new style spread offense, it was in my mind because we had alot of Sophmores playing not just our skilled positions, but upfront and for some, it was the first time going big so you can understand. I hate it that last year was the EXPERIMENT YEAR for all those young guys being that it was my Senior year, but in my mind, because of that they have gotten alot better. But don't mistake me, this years team is gonna be young aswell but with a little bit more experience.
To start on this years team, I will start off from my old position, the Offensive Line. They have a real big Tight-End coming back in 6"3, 260 pound Coty Huber. Last year he played tackle but this year he has been moved to Tight-End. Also, a big stand-out that you will be hearing alot about is in my mind the most talented yet youngest offensive linemen returning. 6"0, 230 (soph) Rashaad Williams. He in my mind to have played as well as he did last year as a Sophmore, is going to be the leader as a Junior.
Now as far as the skilled positions go for the offense, some positions are still up for grabs but in those, there is alot of talent and depth. QB is a battle between last years back-up to Hayes in Richie Rathof, and his little Freshman brother Ryan Rathof aswell as a Transfer from California who has alot of Speed and can throw the long ball as well as anybody. Running back is going to be the position where this years team might either have some problems, or will be real good. Now I know in a earlier post that someone said it was Devon Brown but I'm not to sure if he is actually going to be playing Running Back this year because of problems at the end of last year with Coach Hill but if he is, I expect the job to go to him. If not him, expect to see a RB that reminds me in alot of ways of Darren Sproles from KSU. His name is Marquise White and he is a soon to be Sophmore with not alot of height, but power and speed. The offense this year for Roosevelt is going to be like it always has been since coach Hill got rid of the Spread.
Defense on the other hand is going to be another great Roosevelt Defense. Last year our D-Line was young but held their own and now they have experience and I look for them to be a real threat. They will be lead by Dwayne Daniels (Sr.) and Jywahn Benson (Jr.). Last years Starting Defensive end Joseph Anderson was moved to LB this year because he has incredible speed and power so I look for him to make a name for himself aswell this year. The defensive backs this year will be the strongest part of this years Roosevelt team because they have the most experience. They will be lead by James Moore (Sr.), David Hohensee (Sr.), Ivan Broussard (Sr.), Desmond Jackson (Jr.) and former WR moved to CB John Nation (Sr.)
I can't say whether or not they will beat Judson or anyone of that matter but they certainly have the talent to be something special.

It's all good though. The past 2 years the games between us and Clemens have been real good games. When we played at Clemens stadium on their homecoming night and beat them, that felt good!! We blocked the field goal in the last seconds to win it...This past year was another good one that came down to a field goal but this time in overtime. So I expect it to be another good game but like always, I expect us to come out on top...
