I’ve been away and returned only to find that TWHS bad coaching has finally caught up with them. After reading many posts complaining about how poor and conservative the game against Lufkin was coached, I felt the need to express my thoughts. Although I was not at the Lufkin game, I am sure it was coached much the same as previous games. The only difference, the Woodlands got the crap beat out of them and fans do not take too kindly to that. The offensive play calling has been weak (at best) all year. Instead of working with the players to work out the kinks, the coaches placed all blame on the QBs. First, there was Hudson, who wasn’t bad and certainly not the core of the problem. Then there was Parsons, who did some good things and should be the guy. Then my favorite…the third string QB (what's his name?), good arm - nothing else, and started against Lufkin. Who in their right mind would put their third sting QB in against the strongest team in the district? What were they thinking? Coach Schmid can’t be that stupid….And it gets better…What’s with Drabek? Have they not realized that he doesn’t want to play football? Whatever happened to Grotee? Wasn’t he the only returning junior receiver? Why aren’t they getting him the ball? Also, wasn’t #7 Bova doing well? Why have they started backing off throwing to him? Another favorite of mine, DJ Smalls. Hasn’t he proven time and time again that he is unreliable (in so many ways) and causes problems because of it? Last, but certainly not least, what’s with that big ole’ homegrown boy #88? At 6’6”, surely he can catch something over those little guys. Unless the coaches realize what they have and put the right players where they need to be, the Woodlands won’t make it past the first round of the playoffs. I realize their problems are not all coaching, but it sure looks like it. Good luck Woodlands, because you sure as hell will need it!
