View Full Version : District Winning Streaks?
SA O'Connor has won 22 straight in 27-5A. A win against Jay Friday would be 3 straight undefeated seasons in district. Does anyone have any idea of what the state record is for win streaks in a district? How about current district win streaks? Who has the longest?

I believe you could direct that question to the SLC posters. I also believe Judson had about 8 years plus without losing a district game. I seem to remember Westlake going a lot of years without losing one too.

Our Freshman team had like 10 years of being undefeated until our rivals, Kingwood, did the most disrespectful thing of all time. They switched their A team and B team players just so that the record would not go on. That is pretty low.

Who has the longest?SLC has the record for longest regular season winning streak in Texas. 72 games. Happened in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Current SLC regular season winning streak is 39 games.
I attended the game at old Dragon Stadium when the streak was broken. The other team chanted "we beat the streak, we beat the streak, we beat the streak" constantly until the last bus and car left the parking lot.

Westlake is believed to have the National record for consecutive district wins. they won 71 straght games from 1990 to 2003. It was Hays who beat them that year, and then San Marcos the following week. They have not lost another district game since that time.

I think you are mistaken. I don't know about any national records, but there is a little town in north Louisiana that did not lose a district game from 1987 until 2002. I can't remember the number on wins, but I think it is more than Westlake. But I think that puts the number around 80 or 90 wins.

Read the previous post.
SLC's record is for consecutive wins, including regular season games. Westlake holds the record for consecutive wins in district play. Check the link below.

Current SLC regular season winning streak is 39 games.
Which would make their current district win streak something in the upper 20s?

I'm wondering if you know the precise number of consecutive district games SLC has won?

a win over richland would make it 28, as we lost the last game in 4a district play to boswell.

SLC has not lost a District game since joining the 5A ranks in 2002. SLC's current streaks are :
27 district games
39 regular season games
6 Playoff Games
25 consecative games
And a total record since joining 5A of 56-1.
There are a lot of other schools with better streaks with longer history in 5A, however SLC is the current leader in consecative playoff games with 6. The one lose to Katy messed up the playoff game, and consecative game streaks, but not the regular season and district game streaks.

on a scale of 1(lots of the pre-dodge games) to 10(first sv game) it was about a 1.1. definitely the least dodge ball-like game in td's tenure.

Another impressive run is Houston Yates winning 102 out of 103 district games between 1977-1994 (with 2 streaks of 50 and 52 consecutive wins separated by only 1 loss)

As far as current streaks... I'm not sure... In 5A North Shore has to be up there somewhere with 33 consecutive district wins (counting their win last night) and Dallas Carter will hit 25 consecutive if they win their last game. SLC will only hit 24 with a win this weekend.
Statewide I know that 3A Marlin has won 37 and Sinton has won 31 and they've both completed their regular seasons already.

With their win last night, Northshore has 50 wins without a loss in district. That is five years in a row without a district defeat. Congratulations Mustangs.

Does North Shore play 10 District games a year? Do they have any non-district opponents that they play before the District games start? How many teams are in North Shore's district?
Most teams have only 8 or less teams in the district therefor will play 3 non-district games a year and 7 district games. There is a difference between Regular Season games and district games. All of the district games are played during the regular season but there should be some games that are not concidered district games that are played in the regular season.

You are right. They have 50 straight regular season wins and 35 straight district wins. Also they have not lost a home game since 1997. Their last regular season loss was on the road in 2000. They have not lost a district game in five years and in the last ten years only have about 4 or 5 district losses.
