WE did but I gues not French and English together.

Every baby name has a name meaning. Some names with multiple origins have more than one meaning. Look below to see the meaning of the name Edouard.

English meaning of the boy´s name Edouard:
strong as a boar

French meaning of the boy´s name Edouard:
wealthy guardian
Gender: Male

Origin: French

Meaning: The French name Edouard means - A form of Edward, which is of Anglo-Saxon origin and means "prosperous guardian." Famous Edouards include the Impressionist painter Edouard Manet

Could you use it in a sentence?
Does it have any other origins?
Are there any other pronounciations?

BTW, this is forming in the same area as Hurricane Alicia in 1983.

50 mph winds at the moment

ktCarl

It's a tropical storm with winds at 50 mph with a projected path through Galveston and Houston. The bad thing is the storm is drifting at only 5mph. This gives it plenty of time to become a hurricane before it makes landfall.

EagleDude73

The news media can't even get the pronunciation right. They're saying Edward. It's more like Ed-Do-Ward. Do as in mad_fan head piece. Since this is Texas anyway, let's just call it Hurricane Ed. Frank Billingsley says 5mph = 20" of rain, 7mph = 14", and 10 mph = 10". Projected path to die out is Judson Stadium.

New update:

AT 10 PM CDT...0300 UTC...THE TROPICAL STORM WATCH FROM WEST OF
INTRACOASTAL CITY TO PORT OCONNOR TEXAS IS REPLACED BY A HURRICANE WATCH. A HURRICANE WATCH MEANS THAT HURRICANE CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN THE WATCH AREA...GENERALLY WITHIN 36 HOURS.

The origin of this storm is almost identical to hurricane Alicia which hit Galveston/Houston back on Aug. 15th 1983 w/100+ mph winds.

If they wanted to give it a French name why not Quasimoto?(SP?)

Fortunately it has picked up speed from 5 mph to 8 mph which means it may not make hurricane when it makes landfall tomorrow morning.

Drove through some interesting weather last night, and was wondering if anyone could help out explain WHERE it came from.

Was in Fort Worth this weekend, and Saturday broke a record. Like 106 or something like that. The weather gal then went on to say that Sunday was going to be HOT (like 106 isn't). Anyway, I was out in the weather all day, and did not get to see an official high. Did anyone see what the high there was yesterday.

The other thing that really got me, was a storm that blew up on top of Waco. We stopped to eat around 8:00, and when we walked out about 8:45, the sky WAS BLACK, with LOTS of wind and lightning. Anybody get some of that?

No. It died out before it got to us. But, yes. It did blow up from nowhere and hit Waco pretty hard.

Would y'all still go with this storm heading this way?

I'm waiting until tonight to decide, but I might be finding myself on the couch if I cancel this trip with Mrs. Slorch...

I would wait and evaluate later tonight. From what I understand, this isn't supposed to be a huge rain event but if it continues to move slowly that will obviously change.

Neither Houston (or San Antonio on the current track) will be very nice places to be in the next 24-48 hours if this thing continues on the current line.

My office has been shut down for tomorrow. Worried more about potential flooding than the wind of course. Some spots in the Houston area go under with a decent thunderstorm, so I suppose that is the reason for the precaution.

Ahh, the entertainment options in San Antonio, during a good drenching.

Maybe you could take wagers, on which idiot will be the first to try and get across that low water crossing, and then have to be rescued by firefighters?

Always a good choice.

Or perhaps, which part of town, had the most lightning strikes?

Or watch the aquifer climb, meaning the region will have clean drinking water for one more day.

Why the possibilities are endless!

We had some bad storms earlier tonight. Basically turned the place into a sauna. Must have lost ten pounds just bringing in the lawn furniture. Nothing major yet. I have my large water bottles to fill yet then I'm done. Everything in place. Hurricane lamps, emergency candles, etc. I have my own care package packed in case I have to report to the disaster team at the hospital.
Let Frenchy bring it on. Just got a new report. The winds just went from 45 to 60. Expected to be a hurricane by in the morning.

http://tulsahurricane.cstv.com/facilities/tuls-chapman-renovation.html

I think most of it is done.

• 19 Suites
• 400 Club Seats
• 248 Loge Seats
• 6,800 benches with backs
• 20,000 Bench seats
• Renovated restrooms and concessions
• New restrooms and concessions
• New turf field
• New video scoreboard (pending funding)
• Additional handicapped accessible seating throughout
stadium
• Four game-day suites in the Case Athletic Complex
• Locker Room and meeting rooms in the Case Athletic
Complex
• Academic Study Lab in the Case Athletic Complex

The "Commons Area" around he stadium has been reworked.

In 2005 the north end zone stands were demolished clearing the way for the Case Athletic Complex. The stadium seating was reduced from 40,385 to 35,542.

The seating now is only ~30,000.

The school and city decided years back to make the main entrance to the campus come from 15th ST on the South side as opposed to University on the West side.
