What do you think about the teams in the playoff so far for Division 1 and 2?

I hate it because my Cooper Cougars aren't in the mix for the second year in a row after 12 straight playoff appearances! :(

I don't like the fact that in D1 Region 3 the best 4 teams play each other in the 1st round while the wannabie's play in the other half. A non deserving team goes to the 3rd round while 2 undefeated go home in the first. Not crying over spilled milk, just wish there was a better way or just more fair. It will make for some early fireworks though!!!!!!

I was hoping Katy went Div 1. Nothing wrong with Div 2 though. I thought a possible Katy/North Shore or Katy/Westfield matchup would have got a lot of interest around the State.

I prefer tougher games early, but I play cards with the hand I'm dealt. I won't complain at all. I'm just ready. I'm a pretty laid back dude, but when it comes to the HS playoffs, I can't keep my composure. The one thing I would like to add (like many others) is a D1 and D2 champion. It will give us another week of HS football as well as squash all the we woulda, coulda, shoulda, talk.

The main thing I have against it is that Humble is going to try and get into D2 but it's mostly because it's an easier division. I don't like running away from the big schools. It's kinda like sneaking around to try and get a state championship.

What do you mean by "Humble is going to try and get into D2"? Do you understand that D1 and D2 are determined by school enrollment not by skill or team records. Humbe doesn't get to pick which division they are in for the playoffs. I don't think that D2 is necessarily easier than D1. SLC was D2 for the past three years and I would not consider them a pushover. They are only D1 this year because smaller schools made the playoffs. Katy was almost D1 this year with a relatively small student enrollment in comparison to some of these schools with 4,000+ students. Lufkin is also D2. Don't think that D2 will be a cakewalk.

SLC is not neccesarily D1 yet. There is still a chance that they will go D2 as well.

If Humble goes to D2 they would still have to deal with Lufkin, Katy and Longview at some point. The D2 division is not that easy.

D2 is the tougher division team wise......and you have to win 6 games for a State Championship rather than 5.
Katy has won State in both D1 and D2. Only other 5A team to do that is Midland Lee.
