Long time viewer...first time poster. I usually just post on "smoaky". Just thought I'd come to the board to give CUJO a lil JT fan help. The "Who's Your Daddy" quotes were just to much lol. Plus this board seems a lil more classy than debating with hs kids. I know the Longview game will be a daunting task for our squad but the will to win, heart and a few talented players can pull off this upset. I think this team reminds me alot of the team that made it to state in 2000. No one really expected it. We've already over achieved... we'll leave it all on the field and see what the scoreboard says around 10 o'clock. If Longview stops K. Maddox, they'll win. Good Luck :) . Looking forward to bein a part of the board. We're not quite totally revived yet, but a win like this could go a long way towards that revitalization.

Welcome to the board, CO and good luck this weekend. I'm looking forward to following ya'll through the playoffs. Can I still cheer for ya'll in my red and black?

It's good to see I finally have some company on here. :)
As far as the game, I'm really worried about Maddox's ankle and his mobility. We're gonna have to score some pts to keep up with LV, and it will all hinge on his ability to run.
Anyway, does anyone know what time the gates open? I plan to be the first in line so I can get a seat next to Longview's drill team (only cause it's close to the 50 ;) )

Don't know but if I was you, I'd try and get a ticket down here somewhere and head up 31 or I-20 as early as 5:30.
I think Maddox will be just fine. We've finally started to gain some confidence at the tailback position so hopefully he won't have to should so much of the load offensively. I'm hoping Smith will have a break out game this week, he's big time. Hopefully, N.M and Rockwall exposed the Lobos a bit. We match up pretty well though. Hopefully equal talent athletically, will have the Lobos starting to question themselves by halftime. We need to set the tone in the game i.e the Jason Williams hit vs. Lee. I think it left him like :eek: and we rolled the rest of the way.
Oh yea, we'll need that fan support from Lee traveling to L-view so all comers are welcome. Tough place to play.

Hey - welcome to the board! It is great to see Cujo back. My Owls played ya'll a couple of years ago, in non-district matchups, but it is obvious that JT is not the same team it was then.
There is a chance we may be seeing ya'll again in couple of weeks. Do either of you Lion fans have any clue where that game may be played?
Looking forward to seeing what you guys do this Friday against the Lobos...

Yeah got my ticket this morning and will be heading up there around that time.
Owlfan, I have no idea, but I have a feeling it'll be a home-home. However, JT always seems to play the first round in the metroplex for some reason.

I wouldn't sweat it if I were you - GHS hasn't won a coin toss since the regional finals in '99 - and that was to determine whether we would play on Friday night or Saturday afternoon...

This board is classy, but you will debate with HS kids. You cant avoid that when you are talking HS football, not matter what site you go to. However there are some of us older folks here too. Well, I consider 25 old anyway. My bones are starting to hurt... :(

See, Dragons08 is just a kid, but some of them, like Dragon, are cool kids. Redskins88 is cool too, but he needs to change his screen name. When you see him, dont dog on the Redskins, or the "kid" might come out..

Just enjoy your youth, cause at about 23-24, you realize things are not as easy as they once were.. Like going up stairs, getting out of bed, running more than a city block, well you get the point. I am not looking foward to 30+.

I would say 21. Not too old to date a 18-19 year old girl, yet you are legal to drink beer. Best of both packages. (dont tell my wife) ;) When you hit 22-23, you are college grad age, and its not good to date 18-19 year olds, well not in the teaching field anyway.
i always thought 22 was the perfect age
