View Full Version : Step Brothers
Can't wait for the DVD to add to my Will Ferrell collection.....I laughed until I cried.

Was it as good as Elf???
:D
I almost coughed up a lung, watchin Elf. Three or four scenes, but man did I laugh.
1) Gettin on the escalator
2) The "Belch".
3) The snowball Fight.

Going back today. I didnt get to finish...got a phone call and had to leave....Did I miss much? I was leaving as they got ready to sing at the wine mixer. Don't want to give too much of it away, but as I was leaving I heard Will singing in a high pitched voice and then I heard "Boats and H@es" in the background.

Nah you didn't miss much. You need to hear the singing though because it was pretty funny. That was sort of the end... not too many gags after that. Don't get up and leave right as the credits roll though... hint hint.

I thought Elf was funny but it was a little on the childish side. Step Brothers is definitely ADULT humor and, in my opinion, Elf is not even close.

Dang it...now I HAVE to go back.....

I don't usually go see comedies twice but it was just THAT funny... I really want to. Yeah there is a great scene right after the credits roll. A lot of people were walking out of the theater, stopped to see what was going on, and just kept walking... WHAT.

Emphasis on ADULT.....my boy was with me...usually he watches what I watch, but there were some scenes that I'd rather he didnt see "Cough" drum set...lol....and I few time I'd tell him "I better not EVER hear you repeat that"....I laughed out load when the guy was telling his dad about what if she was tired of the bull and wanted to try the young calf.

To me, that is one of Will Ferrel's best qualities. The ability to make you believe, that he is experiencing something for the first time, like a child. The ending of Elf, was definitely for the kids.
Sounds like I will HAVE to go see Step Brothers AND leave my 12 year old at the house!
Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah the drum set part was pretty raunchy. Yeah "Dale" had a lot of funny lines like that... especially when he was talking to "Dannon" about why Dannon's mother was there... so they could double team her.... :laugh

This is interesting because just this morning I was told my some coworkers to "save my money" and don't see this movie. Now, I think I'll have to check the movie out for myself.

I read the Houston chronicle and it gave it two stars out of five....I KNEW I had to see it then....if the critics don't like it that means it's hillarious. The critics have some of the "values" and sense of humor as some folk on this board....I bet they gave Mama Mia 5 stars.....that means I would hate it.

Woah, ho, HO! Fiction CAN be fun!...but I prefer the reference section.
"I went to Bed,Bath and Beyond....and ENJOYED it.....I held my wife's purse while she went to the ladies room. I sat down and watched her try on 200 pairs of shoes and gave my honest opinion on each one...I watched a movie on Lifetime and cried a little bit when the woman said "Tom! I will not stand for this anymore"...I screamed out "You GO Girl!" at the movie theater while watching 'Dreamgirls'."- dada4w

That is exactly what I do... except I use rottentomatoes.com. Most movies that I really enjoyed get low ratings, with exceptions like Batman, but I really enjoyed The Zohan as well and it got like 1 out of 5 stars... I guess the critics aren't absolutely worthless... they do help me decide which movie to go see... just go against their opinion.

see.....I thought we were boys!.....I had a REASON to go see Dreamgirls....I was going through a downward spiral....a fool at the end of his rope....it was YOUR fault, the board was down and I needed direction! I don't recgonize the fool you are quoting...I'm a changed man:cool:

I laughed so hard in this movie. Although they advertised the bunk bed part, i LOVED IT...especially because all last year and this year my best friend and I have been trying to convince our sorority house board to get us bunk beds. We both rolled :D during that part
