Carroll middle School 8th graders wrapped up a successful season tonight with the A team winning vs Grapevine Middle 42-0 and the B Team winning 8-0. The A team finished a perfect 9-0 and were never challenged all season, and the B-Team 6-3. Combined with Dawson middle, the Freshmen at Carroll next season will be a serious handful.

I heard a lot of the Grapevine parents leaving after the game last night and they were comenting that they wish the game could be more competitive but that that just does not seem to be the way it is with the SLC teams, but one day that magic string will be broken!
This is a high school thread but..., the CMS middle school team has been dominating for 2 years. The only serious threat was when this group of kids were 7th graders and Indian Springs tied them when the center snaped a ball over the QB's head to allow a Safty that tied the game at 8 with about 30 secs left to play. Other than that, the closest margin of victory has been about 21+ points with a total of 11 shutouts in 2 years.
Great Job CMS Dragons!

This thread is actully relevant in that the winning tradition that SLC has appears to be in good hands as these kids are really playing well and have a ton of talent! Add these kids to the ones that already at the High School and you will have some serious great teams! It also goes along with some of the other threads that talk about Freshmen, JV and other subvarsity squads and how they will help the Varsity in the playoffs/next year.
Great Middle School carrer for these kids and great things expected from them for the next 4 years!

Your really clever...if you love football you'd love to come see how the Carroll tradition is developed...but I doubt you'd understand tradition...would you?

This don't have much to do with CMS. Euless Jr. High's 9th grade team lost last week for the first time in 3 school years. This team started out in 7th grade and mostly has stayed together. They lost to Bedford Jr. High 8-6. This team feeds Trinity. Out look is good here too! :D

Sounds like 2 teams headed for a collision...good luck to both in 08!

This is why we need more threads about other teams and other subject matters.
Who cares about 8th GRADE A TEAM and how they rapped up a mythical Junior High National Championship. Who do they play in their 8th grade bi-district match up? Will that game be played on Tuesday or Wednesday night? :D

I'm split here. Although I agree that if you dislike a thread, then ignore it, but this is a High School Football message board. We discuss high school football teams here. I do think middle school is relevant in terms of upcoming talent, but i just dont feel this is the place to be making numerous threads about middle schools.
Also, it is noticeably only discussion about Southlake middle schools. This only furthers our rep of making so many pointless SLC posts.
I'm glad to hear about the success of our middle school, and freshman teams, but save it for the offseason.

Well, that's what I'm here for.. Anytime anybody needs interesting rejoinder, I am the man they call. It's kind of odd how it happens.. I just be sitting there, eating some snack crackers, the phone rings and there it is.. A friend in need of interesting rejoinder. I put on my cape and go to work. It's kind of like magic. But not...

This was not ment to be a "Hey look at us we are great" thread. There have been several threads that ask questions about why SLC is having such a good run. Many people have responded with a lot of different answers. One of the reasons that SLC has been good is because of the competitivness of the town in general. This thread is actually an outshoot of one that talked about the "Dragon Bowl" where the two Middle Schools in Southlake , Carroll Middle School, and Dawson Middle School, play at Dragon stadium with bands in the stand and Jr Flag Teams performing at Halftime. It is truely a small town feel deep in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex.
This but one element that has allowed Southlake to be a strong program.

Really? That's kinda kool. I'll bet there aren't too many places that get it together like that anymore.. Sure fewer when in the midst of large metro areas.
