I'll agree with pretty much everyone else's final four

Region I Abilene
regionII Lufkin
regionIII Katy
region IV Clemens

D-2 state title game in Reliant Stadium(just a guess, could be anywhere)

Lufkin vs Katy

if this game happens, I look for about 35-45k wherever its played, especially if its at Reliant.

Just a hunch. I believe that defense wins games and I just think Carter has a better defense.

Of course, this sounds like some real homerism, but I can see it.

Everybody in Texas knows that Carter has always had the capability, but now Wilson has brought an intangible that I haven't seen there before. I guess he just needed a few years to let his system go through a few classes. The players have bought into it, and they really believe that they can compete with any team, but they have to bring it EVERY GAME NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE or WHAT THEIR RECORD IS. Actually, they've always knew they could compete with any team t but would take the wrong teams for granted.

Just watching them since Wilson has gotten there, I've seen him improve their weak areas year after year. The most impressive thing being how well that spread offense is working in conjunction with the Wing-T and how he tweaked the defense after the first game against Sam Houston from a gateway into a stronghold.

Their district is super weak and has been for a long time so I don't put much stock in those games, but even through the lesser competition you can see a difference in the little things that will make a big difference later.

Carter is in probably the weakest district I have ever seen, so until they play someone good, I would not be convinced they can make it past two rounds.

A better defense than Lufkin? I question how much information you have on Lufkin's defense. Remember Lufkin's defense scored three touchdowns against a very good Woodlands team this past week. If we based a Lufkin vs Carter game soley on defense, Lufkin wins handsdown. And in case you think I don't follow Carter and know its team that well, I only live about 15 minutes from Carter's stadium. I like the cowboys and have great respect for Coach Wilson but they do not have the team speed to play with Lufkin.

Well if Carter doesn't have the team speed to play with Lufkin nobody in Texas does!! Sometimes teams have to play head to head to compare team speed.
Nevertheless, I can't argue about the Pack having a better defense than Carter because you have proved it against better competition year after year. And for the record I know a lot about the Pack's D.

Agreed. Eventually all the talk and comparison in the world means nothing. It has to be decided on the field. I wish the Cowboys good luck in the play-offs and will be pulling for them unless they are playing against Lufkin or JT.

You are incorrect!

Your Alaska reference would indeed imply distance therefore:
"FAR" would be most appropriate in this instance: "FARTHEST"

---------------------------------------------------------
Now, in the case of advancing in the football playoffs,

That mens to play additional games therefore:
"FURTHER" would be the appropriate ADVERB in this case: "FURTHEST"

Thank you for playing. :D

I'm still betting that Longview ends up in Div. 1. If they show up in Div. 2 I'll pull for them as well. I still have a lot of pride in the old district 12-5A and hope that someday it will be re-united. It was a brutal district schedule with JT, Lee, Longview, Lufkin, Marshall all in the same district but you got a great game every Friday night.

I guess you have not heard about Lufkin's D?? Many say they have the best defense in the state. Either way, you have a right to your opinion and DC is usually always tough. Lufkin has had their way with them the last few times they have met in the playoffs and i would like their chances this year. DC usually folds early in the playoffs on a yearly basis.

I'm glad that you guys feel that way because we might face off if we both continue to put up wins. Believe me, this years Carter team is nothing like the last few times Lufkin has played them. It's more like the team that beat Lufkin when I was in school at Carter. It's good to be cocky, but don't bet your last dollar. Remember that we will fold early and Carter doesn't have a chance. I've saved all the quotes that speaks of a Carter's early exit. Play Ball!!!

I'll save yours too dragonfly, but you need to be focused on your own game. It's rough out there. As you know, there is not a team out there that is seperated from the rest (on another level). So this year will bring some so called "upsets". Drag Carter through the mud if you want to, but they won't lay down for nobody.

Nobody is being cocky!! We were just stating the obvious and the fact's. DC has been 10-0 or 9-1 several times lately only to lose in the 1st or 2nd round. How is that bragging about Lufkin?? They might break through this year who knows but you have to go back a good while to see when they last made it to a regional finals. That is just the truth nothing more. Stormingcowboy i respect a fan that said what you just said about their losses. There are many that refuse to say those words after a loss. Maybe dc will bust through the playoffs like they did in the 80's this year who knows??

I hate how you have a few people who base a good team off of their past. I will say it again, Carter is a much improved team this year. Those teams in the recent past that Lufkin beat was probably some of weakest teams Carter had and without consistent or good coaching. Don't base a team from it's past because they have better defense, coaching, and talent than any Carter team from the recent past. Let's talk about the present. Why do you think Storming always ask, "What are you basing this on?"

I'm adding my opinion of Abilene High and how they will do in this year's playoffs. Over the last two seasons they have a combined record of 21-1. Their only loss coming at the hands of SLC 35-30. AHS, having lost 17 staters from last year, have started to come together as a team, namley the defense. Having a senior QB like Potts, the team knows that their window is coming to a close. AHS will start a Junior next year. So, the opportunity to get past Region I and onto greater things is now. Abilene High is playing with the mantra that while Offense wins games, Defense wins Championships.
