Same as the thread about 13 and 14-5a. How do you guys see this going. The playoff picture is fairly clear in both districts.
Division 1
Pflugerville vs Westlake
Division 2
Leander vs Bastrop
Hays vs Round Rock/Stony Point
My personal opinion goes like this.
Pflugerville 31
Westlake 21
Leander 35
Bastrop 17
Hays 42
Either Round Rock school 14

I have a feeling that the Leander/Bastrop game will have a bigger point spread than that. Westlake/Pville game could be closer, but Hays vs. SP or RR should be something like that.

i wouldn't see either RR team getting out of the 1st round. certainly on paper they'll be severe underdogs.
all i know about hays is their big running back and i dont know anything at all about bastrop

Amedaus Waters is one of the top 3 backs in centex thats for sure. They'll get out of the 1st round, but theirs no way Hays finds a way to get past Lufkin IMO. But i guess thats why they play the games.

Bastrop will have hard time with Leander. The Lion's defense will be just too good.
Hays should handle their first round opponent rather easily, if they can recover from losing the week before. That may be easier said than done. Whomever they play will be fired up from an emotional win the week before. Hays, I believe, will be coming off a just as emotional loss, and may not respond well.
Westlake and Pflugerville will be a much better matchup than it was last year. It seems that each of their defenses are struggling right now. Pflugerville will be coming off a disicive win over McNeil, and Westlake will be coming off a tough victory over Hays. Hopefully each team will come in healthy, especially Westlake, who has really been snake bit with the injury bug in their backfield this season. Should be a great matchup that I really don't have a feel for right now. We'll have to see how it builds up next week.

The Lions defense will be too good. They were terrible last week. They better find themselves some linebackers and defensive backs. Bastop runs the ball just like Pflugerville. I see this as being a bad matchup for Leander. I think Leander will win, though. They better watch themselves. They got pushed around by a much smaller Pflugerville offensive line.

I thought we did a solid job against Pflugerville against the run considering who was in the backfield. Yall have more weapons than any other team we've played. Bastrop doesnt pass and thats the only thing we've had a little bit of trouble defending. If Pflugerville lets Jobe do his thing than they will lose, but i dont think that will happen. Jobe is probably faster than any reciever that we have on our team, and Pville couldnt hold stop Billy Allen to save their life, even with messed up legs. Running temas don't scare me at all, especially if they don't run as good as pville.

Probably--Staton Jobe is a state track meet class sprinter--if you look up last year's regional track meet record, I suspect you'll find him there. Bastrop is a running team with a lot of speed--IMO more speed than I saw from Leander. They are also very good at returns. You'll probably win, but I think both Hays (whom they took to 3OT) and we can attest to the fact that you'll have to work hard for that victory--and your defense better bring their "A" game!

our defense always brings the A game. we did lose some defensive starters against p-ville... dont worry, we'll be back on our feet.

I agree that the Lions did a pretty good job against P-villes ground game, it was the kick returns they had problems with. They did a good job overcoming a big field position disadvantage.

Well, I don't think they'll have any easier time with Bastrop's kick returns. They can burn you up!

Well Bastrop doesnt have Antwan Cobb returning kicks so i think we'll have a little bit of an easier time.

You guys (Leander) will be fine. They will score on you some, but their defense will not be able to stop y'all's multiple attack.
