No it wasn't I saw it again like 20 mins ago and my little sister was laughing throughout the whole thing. Most kids don't get the real concept of the Joker's suicidal rampage.
Also I realized that Two Face is nothing compared to what he used to do in the comics. He was so much worse!

I would not take a young child to that movie. Little eyes can't understand and don't need to have it explained. I don't believe it can affect behavior, but it is still something I would not want my young child to see.
The movie is rated PG-13. Pg-13 is for teenagers older than 13, not for kids.

I agree. It depends on the age obviously, but a lot of the kids will just see it as a scary Batman movie and won't understand the deeper meaning behind what is actually shown on the screen.
The one part that I was even cringing in was when the Joker was up in that guy's face with a knife...but that's really the only part that I could see being "too dark" for little kids. These kids have seen more than we think just on regular television.
It's definitely not the "Batman and Robin" from 1997, but I don't see any difference with this and watching Gladiator with your 6 year old son. (I know plenty of examples) :p

I don't know that reason always applies when it comes to getting kids out of the house for a couple hours. :) Parents should use their best judgement of course.
I saw Boyz in the Hood when I was 9 years old. Teach your kids right from wrong and they'll be OK.

My nine year old loved it.
He understands fiction.
in all honesty, We are Marshall caused many more tough discussions in our house about death and courage.

Think we need to define young child. My folks took me to PG-13 movies starting at about 9-10 that they had checked out beforehand.
I was thinking four, five, six year-olds-- who all love Batman. I do think it's a little much for that age.

I thought the movie would be fine for little kids...with the exception of some. I'm a huge scardy cat, so my parents knew, when I was little, what would scare me and what wouldn't....heck PINNOCHIO even scared me. So if you're a parent that knows your kids tolerance for scary-ness (not a word, but go with me) then you can easily decide whether you want your kids in a sleeping bag at the foot of your bed or safetly tucked into their own bed. :D

LOL....I know you are picking. But PG stands for Parental Guidance. So a good parent will take the time to ***** the movie based on their own individual child. Personally, most of the time I view all PG 13 movies before I make the decision if my daughter sees them or not. CSI gives her nightmares. Plus many PG 13 movies would have been rated R a few year ago. But honestly, I would let her see Batman before those stupid movies like Mean Girls that she really can learn bad things from. Even Disney movies often show teenagers and pre-teens showing their parents major disrespect. So I don't let the rating choose whether my daughter sees the movie. I do the research and make my own decision.

No, you just have that "Everything I do is perfect and the correct way to do things" attitude.
I don't know if you do stupid :Censor: You could just be putting up a front.

every kid is different on how much they can handle, but I say the break off point should be around 10 yrs. old.

If it was too scary for Oktober, it's too scary for a 12 year old.
