From unknown to known to Community Vet...movin on up!.... I was the second highest post totaler on the old board..I guess that earned me a spot in the Hall.....I need some of the old antagonists like Eagle Ike, Lonny and giturdrinkonya to get me motivated to more prolific post action....some more wars with Abilene, Lufkin and Smithson Valley (or Katy) would'nt hurt either...:p

How many of the Vets are screennames that are no longer used? I counted 52 vets and that's without guys like BleedGreen.

I have to lobby for some of the 12 Hall of Famers to be upgraded to Vet in light of Unknown's upgrade. I know about the quality of posts, been around for a while stuff, but 1000 posts is still a 1000 posts. Some of us have a combined 2000 or more than 3000 posts.

I am a newbie or whatever, I really dont care. If you have intelligent well thought out post, people will recognize what you have to offer. I think alot of you fellas and not so much of others. Keep the post coming guys. Cant wait till the season gets closer and started.

The reason there's 12 Hall of Famers and 52 Community Vets is because Hall of Fame is a higher title and grants you more goodies (See "Announcement").

Community Vet means you been with us awhile and Hall of Fame means either you've been with us a really long time or your one of the most active contributors to the board. There is no upgrade above HOF.

Just made it here guys (going down to one knee to catch breath - squirt of water) - surely I'll be a community veteran - not really worth of Hall of Fame status yet - I had the stats - but not the tenure. I think I was in the top 10 on the old forum.

You should be a Hall of Famer. They'll notice it pretty soon. I registered and made my first post as a newbie, but I was a Hall of Famer in less than an hour and didn't send an email or anything.

Thanks, Ktchamp97. I was going by the rules from the last board that had vet as the highest status. I didn't realize the categories had changed.

Scooter says Red Raiders responds to some of his posts in minutes. The easy way is to come on here every day and make a post in about 10 different threads. If other people are talking about it, you may break off 20 posts in a day easily. That's how you can get anywhere from 200-1000 posts in a month without really trying too hard.

Personally, I value post quality over quantity when determining Hall of Fame status for a poster. ;)

To be considered, you need to have been around a while in addition to contributing to board discussion.

It will not surprise me to see Clemens not in the top 25 to start off the season. The defense is not going to be as good as past years, since rumors are that a lot of the big guys returning on defense are being moved to the offensive line to protect James Henry. The defense is most likely going to be a step down from previous years, which means teams may score 10 more points a game, but with a good O line for Henry, people are expecting 60pt games each week. It is a trade off of sorts I guess. All that matters is that when all is said and done, I see Clemens havcing a long run into the play offs this year;their final year in 5A for a while.

Texas Hammer
04-20-2005, 02:35 AM
Clemens having a long run is conditional:

You have to assume that Judson plays in D1, so you don't have to face the loser between Judson and Smithson Valley.

Part 2 is you hope that O'Connor plays in D1 again.

If those 2 come true, you still get beat in the quarterfinals, but you get 4 games out of it.

Rerun
04-20-2005, 02:51 AM
Ummm, Clemens will play in D1 this year more than likely and can beat Judson, SV, and O'C if they protect James Henry(which they are doing)

Texas Hammer
04-20-2005, 03:35 AM
How can Clemens play in D1 with Steele siphoning guys from 9th to 11th away? I can see both schools getting back to 5A in a few years, but don't see either being big enough to be D1 for a while.

Clemens will be a Top 25 team if they're good enough to beat those 3 teams.

I’m a BIG fan of the “quality over quantity” style of posting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Too bad, some think that a large post count is a “real” accomplishment!)

You'll be OK as long as he's not trying to break Yaniv Barnett's college records! :p

I'm not sold yet on this being the way for Clemens to win playoff games. Their defense always kept them close regardless of what Lehnhoff did with the offense. If your defensive backups are good, you may be onto something.

It is the quality or substance of the post that matters, not the quantity of post. Some things posted on a forum just don't deserve a response. To only post just to add to ones talley is a waste of time and space.
