I grew up listening to oldies constantly...
My pops was a huge Motown guy...always
had Smokey or Marvin Gaye playing... I have some
really good memories of riding in the car with my Dad
and watching him turn up his favorites and singing along...
So now I do the same thing...Oldies radio is on at our house
constantly...when I'm cleaning...when I'm cooking...outside B-B-Q,
anything...you name it...oldies is probably playing in the background.
Well today I was drinking me a Miller Lite and just hanging out...listening to the radio...and what do I hear.....Huey Lewis and the damn News....
I said...WHAT?...OH HEEEEEEL NO!
See I let the DJ make it a few weeks ago when he started sneakin' Hall and Oates into the rotation...but he went too damn far today...
Not Huey dawg...Not "If this is it"....
It's official...my *** is old.

Yeah, I got to thinking about something along those lines a few days ago. I watched Father Knows Best, The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres, and Leave It to Beaver in the early and mid-80's. Now, TV plays shows from the 80's as the classic TV shows!
Yeah, the 80's are now our oldies, which makes us OLD!

"If This Is It" is a nice video, though! I like them in the sand.

I saw Huey Lewis and the News in 1986 in Nacogdoches at the SFA coliseum...guess who opened up for them?
Freakin' Cheap Trick....It was cool back then though.
Huey is a huge sports fan...
Ever notice...in Back to the Future....the scene where Marty McFly is playing with his band in 1985....one of the judges for the talent show is Huey Lewis...hahahaha
Damn...I'm a nerd sometimes I swear.

LMAO...If it was "Hip to be square" would you have let it slide?
I remember watching Hee-Haw back in the day...that Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas. Those Dukes and Dallas reunion deals freaked me out. On top of that, I've also seen some commercials for Hee-Haw on DVD...freakin' Hee-Haw on DVD???...doesn't that seem a little warped to anyone else?

In "Amazon Women On The Moon", the guy that put himself in the TV said anything but a rock video when he was in the sand with Huey. He was in a Dodgers game and Pethouse video and his wife put him on the Disney Channel! :D

my dad used to go around everywhere singing that song, probably the first song i ever learned as a kid, brings back many good memories for me.
Talking about tv shows on DVD, how the hell have the Wonder Years not come out on DVD? that was my favorite show growing up, and still remains one of my favorite of all time. I remember my senior year in HS nick at nite had a Wonder Years marathon, well after a football game instead of going out with my girlfriend and our friends I told them i had a date with my mom watching the last night of the Wonder Years marathon, we had the VCR set, and made it home in time for the last 3 episodes, half the kids made fun of me the other half acted as if they were to good for the show. I wish someone would put that show out on DVD, it is to good not to be.

Even as a kid, I liked all those girls on the show. Don't forget about Buck Owens. My favorites were Grandpa Jones and especially BR-549 himself, JUNIOR SAMPLES! :D He was like Mr. Haney on Green Acres! :D
