Everyone is in awe of Rollison's skills. Both champ and 2000 said that it has been Rollison, Gilbert, and Meager as far as top QB's of the tournament so far.
Burkhead is out there and is making plays all over the field, like Burkhead likes to do.

From the Dallas Morning News:
* Some of you call Plano's Rex Burkhead "Superman." Not me ... but the kid did make superhero-like moves and plays against Pleasanton. He shook one kid almost out of his shoes, no joke. Burkhead also made a one-handed catch that would have made any big-time receiver want to take notes. And if that wasn't enough, Kris Lott, Holt Hoetger, Kelton Reed and Robert Robinson were just as talented. Quarterback Carson Meger thanks you all.

7on7 seven can be so offense oriented, that 1 stop is worth more than a score. timing can be everything. i wouldn't concern myself with defensive breakdowns just yet. plano will prepare somewhat better for friday nights. the 7on7 games come down to individual skills vs a team game later on.

You can't relate 7 on 7 performance on how a team will play in the fall. All it does is help develop the individual skills of those playing and the passing game.
Put the lineman in the mix its a whole new ball game. So far so good for Plano. Plano's defense will be ready for MacArthur on 8/29.

nothing serious, it was just a collision. some colleyville players were upset about it and the richland bench was coming onto the field saying how they were "ready to go". strangely they were more excited about possibly fighting than they had been about the entire game. richland parents came onto the field yelling at the colleyville players telling them they just ran into each other... pretty lucky that it didnt turn into anything.

:outlawno doubt. they looked good. abilene has reason to be upset about the pool they were put in because they would have won out most of the pools.
BAD LUCK ON THE POOL SETUP, BUT GOOD PRACTICE FOR THE SKILL PLAYERS. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE TEAMS WHO MADE IT TO COLLEGE STATION. WITH ABOUT 1 MONTH BEFORE WE START IT UP AGAIN, GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS IN ALL THE CLASSIFICATIONS FOR A SUCCESSFUL SEASON.

You betta ya? Is that a Plano thing, Captain Mystique? Did the legenary Plano team forfit the last game to avoid injury? Got to hang your hat on something.
This was Garlands first year to field a team, they went to the state tounament, won a game, and were about an hour ahead of the "legends" heading north on 35. Garland is still learning the game;)
I thought you were sticking to your 'offical Garland Owl Thread". Didn't yout tell me to leave you alone? I did, and you still post to my reponses in only a stroked out, old man with 4 stints can.
As you said, go away!!

2008 7-on-7 State Championship
Mesquite vs. Richland
Consolation Championship
Abilene vs Langham Creek
First good tournament, The Woodlands boys came out FLAT first day and got a good talking to Friday night. They came out Saturday ready to play. Game against Abilene had a couple odd calls that could be called game turners but overall I was very happy with the way they came back on Saturday and played on both sides of the ball.

The woodlands got away with several push offs on offense to score on deep balls. I will admit in the second half there were some bad calls against the woodlands, but The woodlands were all over the Abilene players. It was an awesome game both teams faught very hard.
As far as Abilene's pool give us lake travis the 2nd or 3rd game and I think the outcome would be different. We would have advanced to the championship bracket if we would have beat heritage by 11 points. I know thats very difficult but we were up by 21 at one point. I feel we got a bum wrap but we showed people were pretty good for a bunch of short white boys:p

Nope 1-2 in the Pool play on Friday and 1 and done on Saturday. Hebron has a very good 7 on 7 team. Hebron beat us straight up and that was the turning point for the rest of the tourney. Our guys are Freshmen and Sophs and need to work on keeping their heads up and playing after they get beat.
Congrats to Hebron.
By the way if you are interested the Klein Schools had a very dissapointing tourney:
Klein 1-3
Klein Oak 0-4
Klein Forest 0-4
I bet those guys will come along and do just fine as they get experience. See you next year.

How you been Dad? DDaddy is right. Lamar 7on7 is not Lamar football. We will see you at the sub-Varsity games during Zero Week? Or are you just gonna watch TA this year?
I always try to hit a few sub-varsity games. I will be around. thx for asking:D

I'm not understanding your reason for a complaint. Looks like to me the teams that played in the pools with the two finalist would have complaints also. Would you wish that Abilene been placed in the pool with either of the two finialist? In the end the winner has beaten everyone that has beaten every one. Do you feel like if you had been in another pool you would have avoided the two finalist and won the championship? On this day the best team won.

* For those who shun the importance of 7-on-7 to kids, I wish there was a video of the final two minutes of the Arlington Lamar-Mesquite semifinal. I haven't seen emotion like that in months. Lamar went for a two-point conversion in overtime and missed, giving Mesquite a 34-33 victory and the trip to the finals. Lamar players cried as if it were their last game ever. I can appreciate the agony of defeat. It shows the ultimate passion of an athlete. Much respect to Lamar.

I am not aware of anyone, including myself, who believes that those participating in 7 on 7 don't take it seriously. Kudos to all those who made it to College Station.

Everyone is in awe of Rollison's skills. Both champ and 2000 said that it has been Rollison, Gilbert, and Meager as far as top QB's of the tournament so far.
Burkhead is out there and is making plays all over the field, like Burkhead likes to do.
Who is the qb for mesquite? What I saw in the Lufkin game....he is good.

KT's are watching Naaman Forest take Katy behind the woodshed right now...said it was like 21-6 before half...2008 Preseason 1st Teamer WR John Harris standing out so far.
What I saw of Naaman......They are very good.:notworthy
