Ya, AMC and Woodlands should be a good one. Lufkin will have no problem with one of the Killeen schools and Cove should take it easy in the opening round

Well according to coach outlaw if Lufkin plays Harker Heights they will flip for home field, but if it is shoemaker it will be in bryan at 2:00. Outlaw is always willing to flip but most teams do not want to chance playing at Abe. It would suck if we have to travel 3 1/2 hrs to Killeen but i promise we well come in full force no matter where it is played.

It is just me or does the homefield stuff not make sense?? I say if you are a higher seed it should be at your homefield or closer to it regardless. They should reward district champs!! The wacky UIL never makes sense though. LOL

Doesn't really matter which school from Killeen shows up. They are almost exact copies of each other. QB's are the key to the offenses. Of the two Heights QB may be a little bit better. Shoemakes defense has allowed fewer points. It will not really matter Lufkin wins this with a score like 48-21.

Actually Shoemaker has the worse defense of all the possible playoff teams but averages the highest offensive production. In other words they score but can't really stop anyone. Smith the QB for Shoemaker has more overall yards than the Heights QB and subjectivley has a better supporting cast as well. Most people will agree that either Heights of Shoemaker will have to play the game of the year in order to win thier 1st round matchup. Anything is possible though. :D

Good news...sort of. The district met this morning. Apparently, Waco can still make the playoffs.

The tiebreaker is based on points, so if Shoemaker loses to Temple (good luck) and Belton beats Cove, its a five-way, and Shoemaker is +21 on points, but a Waco win of 15 points or more gives them a +22, to earn the third spot.

A four-way tie goes to Shoemaker, they would have +19, the points are capped at 19 for a single game, so a 19 or more point win makes it a tie, which goes back to tie-breaker.

So good luck Lions.

it will be crazy for anyteam to try to flip for a home and home against Lufkin. The panthers are use to traveling for games and we bring tons of people and the whole towm gets excited vise a city like Killieen (my mom is there and was a kangaroo) but anyway they have what like 4 highschools in that area or more and they have tons of military people so people are always moving and coming and everything. if i was that Killieen team i would play at another location and not risk comign to Lufkin to play that is just putting your team in trouble. the Panthers dont care about playing at home or away. when i played we loved to travel and when we played at SFA and got beat in 98 that hurt but the team much rather have wanted to go to texas stadium again and play the Lake highlands and win on there home turff it is somekthing about going to antothers home or city and beating them and have them leaving dang them contry boys can play. I Love that look in that face.

Cove should be able to points on KF. There defense is solid enough to win games if they have to. Did it against Judson when our offense didnt click till the last play, against Killeen, but that doesnt matter, and against AMC, the D scored 2 TD's to win 21-14

Show us some love Lonny, just because we live in Aggie Land doesn't mean everyone here is an Aggie.
AMC is not Katy or Lufkin but we will take The Woodlands to the wood shed, we got a few kink's to work out but inspite of the loss to Cove on the scoreboardn last week, we dominated Cove for 3 1/2 quarters. Cove Dawgs offense drove 70 yards on their first possesion for a TD in the first quarter of the game but after that only 80 total yards for the rest of the game. Our offense put together 250+ yards and 2 TD's in the game but then had a brain fart and put 2 TD's on the board for the Cove Dawgs with a blocked punt that never even took off and a 56yd pass interception.

Cove Dawgs will kick all off into KF and represent 13-5A big time-Sic'em Dawgs!

Killeen Harker/Shoe we wish you guys a lot of luck and we will even throw in a couple of miracles too - Lufkin looks pretty mean this year, so represent 13-5A well and don't get embarassed.

everyones said all year that they should have beat cove this and that and brain fart or what not but no one has that means something. Cove is a good team, great coaches and lots of talent. THe way garner runs that offense is amazing and fun to watch and i hope they go a long way in the playoffs and represent our district well

None of that information will be made public until the two coaches get together, late Friday night. I'm not positive but the 3rd place spot in 14/5A is still somewhat up for grabs. At the conclusion of all of the 14/5A games Jack will be in touch with that coach(3rd place) and they will work out the details.

Cove isnt sure who they are playing yet. Its the winner of KF and Huntsville. I believe if its Huntsville the game will be in BCS and maybe even with the KF game but most likely in Austin. Correction, I just talked to a few Cove players and they heard from the coaches most likely BCS too

Drabek is still on the roster but seems to be more concerned with the upcoming MLB draft... he is projected as a top ten pick as a pitcher... so his focus is with baseball. He was recovering from I believe a rib injury earlier in the year due to an acciedent so his stats have been down from last year... So far this year he has 8 receptions for 125 yards and one score... he needs to step it up if the highlanders are going to make a run.

I have a different slant on this one. I have not seen Cove but I have seen KF. The lack of discipline on KF will be their undoing. They will beat themselves with all of the after whistle activity. CC watch yourselves against these guys!

i don't know but i can see all three 14-5a teams going back home to start an offseason work. i am not saying that it will happen, but i am getting tired of all these people underrating heights saying this and that. when we are picked to lose our win by chance we play good football. lufkin is a good team, but heights is not that bad. the only reason our defensive and offensive stats look horrible is becuase of our week 1 loss to cedar park. we can hold our own agianst anyone if we can play all four quarters. if that happens lufkin may go back and tell their seniors that they had a great year.
