Excellent list, with the noted additions. I would add Ted Nugent and KISS on the harder side, and Fleetwood Mac on the easier side.

How could I forget the Nuge or KISS?:o:o I wore out two or three 8 tracks of double live and I actually got to meet Ted and his family a few years ago

sorry about the Skynyrd spelling:o I used to manage a record store back in the 70's. Used to get tickets to all the concerts in Dallas and Ft Worth from the record companies. What a great decade for music!!!!!

Saw him at Hofheinz Pavilion in 1972 (Madman Across the Water tour). Just him and a piano. Awesome. Got free tickets through the student union at St. Thomas. Went with John Randall. :notworthy

I even met the real Leonard Skinner, the PE Teacher from Lee ... he actually got to be fond of having his "name" so well known. It would have been something to see that group had Ronnie VZ not been killed in the plane crash.

i caught the last concert they did at the woodlands. michael mcdonald did the warm up act then later joined them at the bottom half .

i enjoyed it even if donad fagen can't really sing. The musicians were lights out as usual.

While Cream broke up before 1969, some of their biggest success in the US was when their live albums were released in 1970. I still remember that being one of the albums I had in my time in the dorm (damn that was a long time ago). Mountain did not start up until 1969 and all of their big years were in the 70s. Several of the bands mentioned in the thread started in the 60s so I thought these were applicable. Great memories.. thanks for the thread.

I guess you're right. Grand Funk Railroad was certainly one of those late 60's bands that carried over into the 70's.

I guess it's according to your source.

I always thought it was Pink Floyd, Dark side of the Moon, but that album is number 19.

The Eagles greatest hits is number one.

Micheal Jackson, Thriller, is number two.

Frampton isn't in the top 40, all time.
