I'll start this thread again to see how the studs are doing with the playoff's just around the corner. Nance got 238 on 28 carries in the loss to SGP. Thats the carries in 1 game this year. This past week gives him 1717yds. and 27 td's for the year. :D Don't see much here on Mcgee and those guys let us know over here in the Plex.

yeah, Bradly's a BAD BAD BAD DUDE, the only thing about that team is.....THAT HE IS THE TEAM!!!! McAllen Memorial has got some GREAT kids, they got some good athletes some of the better athletes around, BUT Bradly Stephens is ALL THEY USE....they have IMO the BEST passing QB in the RioGrandeValley, but they dont let him throw the ball, they got some awsome WRs too with size and speed....kinda reminds me of the movie "Friday Night Lights" with Booby Miles, think of Stephens like that....if he gets hurt (WHICH I HOPE HE DOESNT) THEN WHAT?!?!?!?!?!

The kid is special, but dont jeopardize him by MAKING him carry more than his share...

I am glad to see that the States Leading rusher in 5A is from the Valley and the States leading WR is from SouthTexas too...

Mcgee had the worst game of his career.

held under 100 yds
3 fumbles
no tds

My bet he bounces back big vs. JT this week.

I just looked at the State stats. In comparrisons to the other RB's on the list Stephens is one of the lowest carries per game RB. If you were a coach and had a RB that was averaging over 11 yds per carry would you not give him the ball? Based upon his number of carries and games played he is averaging 22 carries per game that is approximately 6 carries per quarter. I say put the ball in this kids hands. A RB doesn't really have a feel for the defense until after 5 or 6 touches. Westlake I assume that from your name you played soccer against Stephens from the Austin area. What team did you play soccer with Stephens? How was his speed and play in comparrison to the other kids on the field.

I had the chance to watch Westfield this week and this kid is very underrated. He is no doubt among the top running backs in the state.

No doubt tiger, the kid is UNBELIEVABLE...he certainly deserves the hype, you dont find many 5'11 190lb kids running 4.3s now a days... i just think that Memorials HC should use his other players a little more, i bet Stephens would have just as many yards, but with a much higher avg per carry, i think he'd still have well over 2,000yrds but have an avg of about 14 to 15yrds, imagine how impressive that would look?

I was impressed by him last year in the State title game. He's got big time football speed.
