CO - gimmee a break - I say that it is my opinion that KF is not a classy program (multiple players kicked out against LP in two games) and that they have under-achieved this year based on the incredible talent they have. You tell the entire City of Lufkin to go get their GED - and yet, we are the cheapshot artists? LOL - too funny. KF needs some major help in the coaching dept. - the kids are fine - they just need some guidance, discipline and coaching. If your best buddy John Outlaw were there you know he'd make 'em winners.

False, I never tear down a team unless they go after my team first. I respect other programs but i will usually respond if provoked. I have great respect for many Houston area team's but when some of their fans talk smack we are forced to dish out the fact's. ;) Teams like Katy (One of the best 5a teams of all time), The Woodlands, NS, Westfield etc etc have my ultimate respect that is not the point.

I give lufkin's FOOTBALL TEAM & COACHES plenty of credit. They have great talent, are well coached, and play defense like wildmen. They are a good offensive team, they are a GREAT defensive team. No doubt, they will do well in the playoffs. It is comments by the lufkin fans that make them so hard to root for.

As stated by many lufkin fans and admitted by me personally, lufkin has great talent & great coaching, one of the best defenses in the state, and some truly explosive offensive weapons. Sooo, basically anything less than a state title would make this year a complete disaster right? Will Outlaw & staff be bashed if the panthers underachieve and not win a state title this season?

You're positively wrong CO.

Yep...Lufkin had 2 (not three) players ejected against PAM. Two young juniors playing in their second varsity game were baited by some smack talk and got kicked out for jawing back at PAM players. The LP coaches got in the kids faces and let them know that was the first and last time it would happen - and it was. Not a peep out of Taylor (first eject) the rest of the year - and that rookie mistake by Earley (second eject) cost him playing time this year. The LP coaches will not put up with it.

Conversely, KF had multiple players kicked out against us in '02 and again this year. As Coach O stated - "the KF kids don't know how to act". Amen - they just need some better instruction. Go ask your buddy John how KF handled themselves on the field CO -- what a riot.

Cmon PTH - you were the world's worst at labeling and ridiculing all of Lufkin and calling the entire community low-class. Unlike CO - you have a take on football and you did give Lufkin props for the victory.

I have no idea how far Lufkin in the po's - but I won't be bashing Lufkin because they have a great program. Great is not labeled in my book by numbers of gold balls - although LUfkin did collect yet another one of those this past Friday night.

Give us your take on Huntsville/KF this Friday PTH - how about it?

Typical Lufkin rhetoric? :rolleyes: First of all I have not even SPOKEN your name so why would you tell me to keep your name out of my mouth? I have typed your name but never spoken it. There is a big difference. I guess I did get a decent education here in Lufkin after all. What is the problem with me taking notice that you and countryoutlaw seem to have the same attitude about our education and country lifestyle up here in Lufkin? If I see similarities between two people who like to dog Lufkin then I will probably mention it. No big deal. By the way I never dog another team. I only respond to others nonsense sometimes. I never have and never will act like Lufkin is far superior and that we can't be beat. I know we can be beat it just does not happen that often. I think that we have a shot at the title but there is no guarantee that we will win it. That is just the way it is. There are several capable teams that have a shot at the title. Sure there will be SOME fans that will ridicule the coaches and players if they don't win it all. I will not be one. There are always those types of "fans" no matter what team it is. Please just don't act like Lufkin is the only team that has those types because I know that a majority of teams have those types. It becomes more evident each day that I get on this forum.

I would usually jump in with all kinds of smart A remarks in this one because many are deseving but i am trying to show more restraint and i will do so in this thread. LOL One thing on the KF ejections though. They could have kicked out 4 or 5 if they chose to but did not. In PA the refs had a amazingly quick trigger on the ejections. Not making excuses for the 2 Lufkin ejections but it is true. If those same refs did the KF/Lufkin game the golden eagles would be missing half of their team. ;) Either way let's move on. Complete waste of time!! I will be cheering for The Woodlands and KF in the playoffs unless they play Lufkin, Longview, or JT.

My take on Friday night is that I like the Golden Eagles. KF played an emotional game versus Klein and came out on top. Just the type of emotion that the KF team needed during the most critical part of the season. Klein played outstanding in the game as well, as you could tell that BOTH teams understood what was at stake. Huntsville has a good group of players that all play hard & I'm sure they know that by beating KF, Huntsville could have a shot at getting in. Just like Klein, Huntsville will give KF their best effort. Should be a great game.

To put things in perspective about this KF team - last season & this season were SUPPOSED to be re-building years. The fact that they played lufkin closer than any other district opponent, considering that lufkin is one of the top teams in the state, & look to be headed toward the playoffs is icing on the cake. KF plays a lot of sophs & has many key juniors returning next season to join in with the soph dominant JV team. People can say what they want about KF being underachievers, but many people "in the know" are well aware of what KF can do in the next few upcoming seasons...

I think they need to win by 12 anything else and Klein goes in Huntsville wins, KF controls their own destiny. KF did a good job Friday coming from behind and beating Klein, they never quit. IMO, it should be a good matchup with KF winning going away.

Klein beat Huntsville by 7 and lost to KF by 3 giving Klein a net + 4.

If Huntsville beats KF by 12 they would have at + 5 to edge Klein.

If KF losses they are out because their are + 3 and would drop in net points with a loss.
