It's the 9th week of the 2005 football season. A time of the year when the playoff picture gets a little clearer and the "next season" is upon us. The talk about who goes D1 and DII and how far they might go really heats up. Homerism is at an alltime high during this time of year. And then I look at the board and see threads (actually multiple threads) about BANDS and their fight songs and SAN ANTONIO REAGAN and their FOOTBALL playoff possibilities. What is up with our world people? With all the natural disasters that have occurred recently, many are already saying "The end is near". It really might be if the Reagan Rattlers make the playoffs.
I know that Reagan is a really great school in just about anything they do EXCEPT football. Heck even their band is one of the best in the state. My niece is first chair in her section of the band so I know how well they are doing. So what do you think? Is the end really near (tongue planted firmly in cheek)?? :D
And please don't start a thread about whose flag team has the best legs or what stadium's nachos have the best cheese or something stupid like that.

woah woah, why go hatin on the bands? UIL just occured last week, and getting the fans "pepped" up relates to the game, like Hawaii 5-0, in hte playoffs coach dodge requested we play it every quarter (he did this last year), he requested it because it meant something to him, from when you had to go 5-0 or something like that to win state i belivie is the reason for it, not 100 percent sure, but thats what i could remember from what we were told

As long as they post threads in the right forum what difference does it make what's discussed here? There are seven different forums which can pretty much cover any topic someone wishes to bring up!

I'm with Cougardude on this one. I realize we have alot of members that were and or are Band. So they have their right to talk about what's been happening in thyeir season and what awrds or contest they might have won. Where I have a problem with these kind of threads is they don't belong in the Main Statewide Board forum. If you will notice the description that KT and the gang have placed on the that forum it read : Your home for 5A Texas High School Football discussion. Now again I do realize groups such as the band, cheer leaders, drill team, pep team and on and on have their place at a football game. However I think that if it is not football related then it needs to be posted in the Off Topic forum.

After Judson puts a beating on Reagan, you won't see any more Reagan in the playoffs threads.

I think it goes deeper than that.....Odessa Permian plays that and Permian beat Dodge in the state finals I believe.
