I just want to thank all of the fans that went to the games , supported and rooted for my two sons Ram #2 (2007) and Frankie #30 (2008). I am sure we all rooted for the team as a whole . The boys have moved on to the Junior college level and with God's blessing they will be at a D 1 school after next football season. It is true that Becky and I are the parents , but the boys are a product of a great community. Thanks for all of the cheers. :notworthy:notworthy

Congrats to your sons, seeing messages like this make me feel that we as parents are doing "ok" with our kids...going on to play at the next level is fantastic, I have one doing that also...seems those two boys are not only a product of a great community, but sounds like of great parents too...good luck to you and them both...I will pray for your family...

What D1 schools do your boys have on there list???

It is wide open right now, they are taken care of grades and doing what they do on the football field . They know it student/athlete in that order.

Congrats. I wish your sons much success at their JUCO.

I know how you feel with it all being over for HS. My son had three fantastic years on Consol's Varsity. Now, because of his grades, he'll be reporting to Trinity in San Antonio on August 15th for the start of 2 a days

6'0" tall offensive guards are not going to get much, if any, D-1 love. But with awesome grades and test scores, a great D-3 school like Trinity came after him hard. It's all about finding a good fit.

I think after all the high school accolades were tallied up, the one thing I'm most proud about for my son is his TX 5A Academic All-State First Team selection a few months ago. Followed closely by being selected by his teachers and coaches to the Consolidated Hall of Fame.

To all you parents out there with younger sons, keep hammering away on their grades. No matter what athletic talents the good lord bestows upon them, without the grades they won't be going anywhere anyway. Keep up the good fight Mom and Dad!

Yes, Leander has basically owned everyone for the past 7-8 years. Great coaching, and great athletes combined for an extraordinary run. You'll still have the coaching this year, but not the same depth of athletes you've had in the past.

It will likely come down to who is the healthiest at the end of the season. It'll be fun!!

118 days till we find out.

They may or may not have the athletes that they had in the past. But this comes with unproven talent. The last time Leander had this much turnover in terms of graduation, they followed up their 9-3 season with a 12-2 season that nobody expected. So you never know. And i may end up eating crow on this cause you never know who is gonna turn out good in varsity athletics, but i'm telling you guys rb Deangelo Bishop will be our next big thing IMO.

The Battle for Bagdad is always a good one. Has the feel of a playoff game every year no matter what is at stake. I agree with 3033 that Bishop is going to turn some heads after waiting in the wings this season. Any of you doubters out there need to realize that Leander has built itself into a program that doesn't rebuild. They reload!

Got one at SLC. 6'3" guard. You are right about the grades though. Football has helped him in the classroom though. I give the coaches credit there. He is a junior and seems to have his head on straight. Thanks for the advice.:)
