Hang in there, R.R. Your team won't be down for long... they played a lot of young players this year, they have a great coaching staff, and a tradition to build on. Lee will be back...
Don't know the answer to your question, though...

Nope, we are exile from playoff now... did you not study our team still? lol

Lee, you'll come back. We know how good you are. Now that Cujo has resurrected, I wish we could get our little district back. Wow, what fun.

Our team will even worse more next year because of the bad quarterback... we still don't have the players still again...

REL will be back! I have no doubt in my mind. Yes, this year was a disapointment, but Coach O and his staff are too good to let the program just slip away. However, if he somehow leaves (which I don't see happening), the story changes! Keep your heads up. The General will be charging again soon enough. :)

That attitude is what bothers me. There is zero loyalty in that city.

uhhhh...... I beg to differ with you on that one
there are still a few of us around here that don't like to ride on wagons

I'm not talking the old JT fans. Those that have stuck with them through thick and thin are true fans. These bandwagoners who are willing to drop their school in favor for whoever is winning is the prevailing ideal in that city.
The thought that REL players would just jump over to JT because JT is winning jsut upsets me. That's pathetic, but I wouldn't put it past Lee people.

the transferring back and forth bothers me as much as the privates playing in the uil. can they really go back and forth without any releases or uil control? if so, that's wrong and next to recruiting.

I agree with that, I was just taking exception to the "zero loyalty in that city"
But all this player movement between the high schools makes me want more and more for Tyler to have one Senior High school, one in which would unite the whole city and make one unimaginably dominate athletic program that would be like Plano Senior High of last century. But that topic can wait till the end of the football season.

It's a Pine Tree/ Longview situation. Hate to bring up the topic, but good luck trying to get smarmy, pompous white Tyler Lee people to integrate a larger black population. It won't happen. You'll suddenly see Grace Christian and TK Gorman with 4A numbers.

Well they sure haven't had a problem bringing the best of 'em over to Lee to win them a State Championship. ;)
but yeah, you're right, but we'll just stop it there before KT stops this thread. lol

I don't think there is a worst defending state champion, because there is a different make up of players the following year from the team that won the title. That's all I will say, I don't want Big A to think Lufkin is hijacking this thread.

Just to stay on topic, I think Lee will return to the playoffs next year and I think they will have some company as JT returns as a playoff contender next season. Again, there are no worst state champions.

I think JT will have a much harder road to hoe then Lee will next year. JT will have very little experience coming back, losing 19 of 22 starters, while Lee is already looking and preparing for next year. It would be nice to see all East Texas teams in the playoffs again though.

East Texas has a bad habbit of producing a State Champion, and then the next year they wont make the playoffs(excluding Lufkin from 01').
Marshall in 1990.
JT in 73', and 2000.
Longview in 97'(state contender but didn't make playoffs in 98')
Tyler lee in 04'.

With that kind of attitude, why would they want to be there? I couldn't blame them for not wanting to be there.
There is a term for that.. Uh.. Reverse.. something.. What's that.. reverse..
Oh well. you know what I mean..

Its just a situation that I know has existed in Longview. There had been discussions of consolidation of LISD and PTISD, and the PT people wouldn't have it even if it did mean a larger budget.

What makes me mad that JT students coming over to our school to play football and other activists and I am not getting it for that. I want that law to be fix where nobody come over our school for reason unless its a class or IB Program like some of the Lee studnets go to JT for IB program but thats a really good reason. For Football? I don't think... Coming over our school for sports is not acceptable because it seems to be cheating to other schools. 1st Year 3A Private School "Brook Hill" Football got 5 players from Lee is ok because these studnets paid for it and also 3A T.K. Gorman and Grace are large Private School in Tyler and I am not really sure if they have any Lee players but I am sure they do. Its just not acceptable for public school to do that.
